The Cowboys made a move on their defensive line and lost a QB to the Browns.
The Cowboys injury report today is pretty much the same as yesterday. The Cowboys have four players out, and they all have hamstring injuries. Same as it ever was. Sean Lee, Justin Durant, Morris Claiborne and Dwayne Harris all sat out today's festivities. Sean Lee and Justin Durant were doing some running on the side, so that bodes well for them to return soon, but not by Thursday.
The Cowboys made a roster move, signing linebacker/defensive end Martez Wilson who was a recently a Saint.
The Cowboys signed linebacker Martez Wilson with an eye to perhaps trying him at defensive end, believing he can be a pass rusher. Wilson was a third-round pick of the New Orleans Saints in 2011 out of Illinois. He played in 13 games as a rookie, collecting one sack, and played in 16 games last year, getting three sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery, plus a blocked field goal.
This year he was injured and didn't get a lot of playing time before the Saints released him early in the year. But could the Cowboys have signed him for a different reason?
He was claimed by Oakland and played three games before being released last week.
How convenient, we just happen to be playing the Raiders! With a short week, there's not much intel he could give that the Cowboys could actually implement a game plan for, so it's more likely they just think he can help down the stretch. Dallas released defensive tackle Everett Dawkins to complete the transaction. Rushmen come, rushmen go for the Cowboys in 2013.
Also, the Browns claimed QB Alex Tanney off the practice squad.
