Congratulations to The Senator.

Witten was added to the Pro Bowl yesterday to replace Broncos tight end Julius Thomas, who will be playing in the Super Bowl in two weeks. This marks the ninth Pro Bowl selection for the Cowboys tight end in 11 seasons. He missed making the Pro Bowl in his rookie season of 2003 and once more in 2011.

Witten's ninth nomination ties him with Randy White for the fourth most Pro Bowl appearances in team history. Bob Lilly leads all Cowboys with 11 nomination, while Larry Allen and Mel Renfro have 10 each.

Since entering the league in 2003, Witten has caught 879 passes for 9,799 yards and 52 touchdowns. He is the second all-time leading tight end in career receptions and third in receiving yards. He needs 262 more yards to move ahead of Sterling Sharpe into second place for all-time in receiving yards. Witten also continues to climb the NFL’s all-time receptions and receiving yards charts among all position players. He finished 2013 ranked 17th all-time in receptions and 43rd in receiving yards.

In Hawaii, Witten will join fellow teammates Dez Bryant, Tyron Smith and Jason Hatcher, all of whom will be making their first Pro Bowl appearance.
