With a rash of injuries to the secondary, the Cowboys are looking to sign a couple of players to take some of the load off the remaining healthy ones.
The injuries to the Dallas Cowboys continue, particularly on the defense. While there have not been any serious injuries acknowledged by the team since rookie DE DeMarcus Lawrence broke a bone in his foot, there is obviously a reluctance to push players back on the field before they are completely recovered from the various nicks and dings they accumulate.
The team has been especially hard hit in the secondary, with only four cornerbacks available for practice on Monday (and the fourth, Tyler Patmon, getting injured during practice). To keep from totally wearing the remaining healthy players out, the Cowboys are attempting to sign a couple of free agents, CB Korey Lindsey and S Johnny Thomas. They had attempted to sign CB Charles Sawyer on Monday, but he did not pass his physical. Apparently, he couldn't raise his arm above his shoulder, never a good sign in a cornerback. Lindsey and Thomas will likewise have to pass physicals before they can be signed.
Neither player has much on their NFL resumes.
Lindsey was a seventh-round draft pick out of Southern Illinois in 2011, and he has spent time with six NFL teams in the past three years. Thomas, a safety, played for Oklahoma State, where he was ruled ineligible for the 2011 season. He went undrafted in 2012,
Korey Lindsey (5'10" 194lbs) was drafted in the 7th round of the 2011 draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. He had 14 career INTs at S. Illinois.

Johnny Thomas (5'11 205lbs) was signed by the Saints as a rookie FA in 2012. Had 3 INT's & 2 FF's as a starter at Oklahoma State.

Both are likely to serve only as camp bodies, but right now, coming up with enough bodies is a challenge for Dallas.
