Dez Bryant Declares He Had A "Great Day" In Practice Thursday - Charean Williams, Fort Worth Star-Telegram
Here is news that will bring a smile to your face. Officially the team listed Dez as limited, but he did see some work in 11-on-11 drills on Thursday and I also caught rumors about some impressive one handed grabs.
Coaching Staff Devising Plan For Romo's Return To Practice Next Week - Dave Helman, DallasCowboys.com
Tony Romo will be allowed to resume practice next week as he prepares for his return from a broken clavicle. He will be able to get two weeks of work in before being able to resume playing, but that will present a special challenge for Scott Linehan, The offensive coordinator will not only have to juggle reps for his real starter, Romo, and the man who will be making at least two more starts for Dallas, Matt Cassel.
"There'll be some adjustment. You've just got to figure out how it works in the flow of practice so you don't disrupt that for the quarterback that's going to be playing that particular game." - Scott Linehan
Rod Marinelli On Lack Of Takeaways: 'I Have Never Had A Dry Spell This Long' - Rainer Sabin, SportsDayDFW.com
Well, there was that one game in Philadelphia, but that is like a brief shower in the middle of a drought. It was nice at the time, but it does nothing to eliminate the problem. The Cowboys have three takeaways this season, and none since that day against the Eagles. In fact, those are the only turnovers the defense has generated. There is even speculation that the Cowboys are pushing themselves so hard to get a turnover that the effort is having the opposite impact.
Cowboys LB Rolando McClain Still Finding His Way In Return - Todd Archer, ESPNDallas
Against the New York Giants RoMac did not look like the player that we saw in 2014 and now we know why. The Cowboys linebacker is not making excuses for his performance, he owned his mistakes, but he was feeling a little bit under the weather last weekend.
"As you all know with the flu it is what it is. It's hard to get out of bed let alone play in a National Football League game. That's no excuse. We didn't get the job done as a team. I didn't do enough and I expect more from myself." - Rolando McClain
At least the bug appears to have run its course and McClain is back to being himself. He will need to be against Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson.
Seahawks QB Russell Wilson Is Again A Dual Threat vs. Cowboys' Defense - Rob Phillips, Dallas Cowboys.com
The Seahawks passer can beat you through the air, but he is also second on the squad in rushing, so you have to worry about him beating you on the ground as well. His versatility has earned the respect of the Cowboys head coach.
"He's got great instincts for the game, a great feel for the game. We obviously want to try to contain him as best we can. He adds so much to their offense because of his ability to run that offense, the different things they ask him to do, but also when he gets out of the pocket and creates. It's the same issue that each of the teams that face him every week go through. You just want to minimize his ability to make big plays both from the pocket and once he escapes." - Jason Garrett
Richard Sherman Likely To Follow Dez Bryant Against Cowboys - Curtis Crabtree, KIROTV.com
Pete Carroll is doing what good coaches due, he is preparing for all circumstances and that includes the possibility that Bryant will return to face the Seahawks. If Dez does play, Seattle will be giving him due respect. Richard Sherman will be tasked with trailing #88 around the field. This is a departure from the normal approach the Seahawks use. As a rule they do not assign a specific DB to a receiver, but Bryant is not just any receiver, even when returning from an injury
