In case you forgot, people do bet on football.
Heading into the season, most everybody agrees that the Dallas Cowboys are Super Bowl contenders. To reach the big game, they would first have to win the NFC. So are they favored to do that, or is another team ahead of them?
According to the guys over at OddsShark, the Cowboys are not the top dogs in the NFC. And it’s not the Atlanta Falcons either, last year’s NFC champs. Nope, the favorite for the conference is the Cowboys playoff nemesis over the past few years, the Green Bay Packers. The Pack come in at +190 to win the conference. That is far and away the leader according to OddSharks. Following the Packers are three teams tied at +600. The Cowboys, the Falcons and the Seattle Seahawks.
The Giants come in at +900, the next-best odds after the trio of Dallas, Atlanta and Seattle. Washington is at +2200 and the Eagles are at +2500. The worst odds in the NFC? The San Francisco 49ers at +10,000. Yikes! (You can see all the odds here).
