Dak Prescott is continuing to show his maturity and development in OTA’s.

The story of the day at Cowboys OTA practice mainly revolves around the Rookie of the Year quarterback Dak Prescott as he develops into the face of the franchise.

If you haven’t read the above article, do yourself a favor and check it out. Dak impressed the coaches and training staff by showing up in better shape they could hope for.

Speaking on Prescott, Jason Garrett added a few details just to the type of guy Dak truly is and his growth.

Also, quick note, if you haven’t subscribed to the BTB podcast with Landon McCool, please do so. He certainly has some thoughts and nuggets of insight about the OTA practices.

Some new comers to the defensive line are looking to do damage.

Yesterday, it was all about Ryan Switzer after he made the play of the day and bailed out Dak when the defense clamped down. Today, OC Scott Linehan had to admit that Switzer has already left a good impression on his coach.

Scott Linehan is excited about utilizing @Switz03 during @Dak's second year as a starter.

Switzer seems like he’ll fit right in with this receiving corps:

It’s kind of caused a bit of a stir with how the Cowboys have deployed their offensive line. For the first time in seemingly forever, Dallas will be shuffling a little bit with the retirement of Doug Free. That left Emmett Cleary getting reps at left guard, which is worrisome but remember it’s only OTAs. Bryan Broaddus is not exactly what you would call a fan:

Have my doubts. https://t.co/h9bWRPhn7R

@BryanBroaddus Is this just experimenting? Is Cooper still the hope/plan at LG?

Can toy with your lineup when you don't have to get ready for a game. https://t.co/dNz1M8ofM6

If you want to know a little bit about the adjustments, here’s the Cowboys All-Pro Right Guard Zack Martin:

Your daily update on Jaylon Smith is more of the same, at this point, it’s hard to bet against him.

A little more on Dak Prescott’s approach to the offseason program now that he’s been “knighted” a leader by guys like Jason Witten and Sean Lee. This one is straight from his position coach, Wade Wilson:

Cowboys QBs coach sees only improvement from Dak Prescott: 'Nothing is too big for that kid' https://t.co/0FuH3jpQLP via @sportsdaydfw

— Brandon George (@DMN_George) May 25, 2017

How much better can Dak Prescott be in Year 2? "100 percent better, honestly. In every aspect of my game there's room for improvement."

The best Twitter question of the day goes to this guy, the responses are even better:

@JC1053 Cowboys go 4 wide with @DezBryant @Bease11 @Switz03 and @TerranceWill2 wit @EzekielElliott in backfeild.

What does the defense do?

— Jamon Sanders (@Etxjasan) May 25, 2017

Pray for offensive pass interference or illegal formation or offensive holding. https://t.co/brlbwqhteQ

— Mark Lane (@therealmarklane) May 25, 2017

And none other than our wily veteran Tom Ryle had the most accurate plan of action:

We will leave you with the biggest headlines of the day and that’s what Washington Commanders CB Josh Norman decided to give as bulletin board material for 2017. He basically said that Dez Bryant is “just a guy”, he’s not worried about covering Dez because he can “bully” him. He also trashed every receiver in the NFC East saying that he’s not improving his game by covering the receivers in the division.

The responses will be endless but here were some funny ones:

Josh Norman talking like he's Deion Sanders but out here playing like he's Elvis Patterson in '93.

Greatest nickname ever. "TOAST"! https://t.co/ZvWn4Fftyh

— B✭Schlerf (@YumaCactus) May 25, 2017

What’s funny is that Josh Norman has had some success against Dez but Dez has got him a piece too:

What a bully. pic.twitter.com/G0qr9jQDde

— mike fisher ✭ (@fishsports) May 25, 2017

Maybe someone should go remind Norman that Dez had 12 receptions for 174 yards with an average catch at 14.4 yards per strike. They could also let him know that his defense gave up nearly 60 points in two contests or that Dez has the most receiving touchdowns since 2011. One last nugget, maybe Coach Gruden should have Norman cover Dez at all times but that would require him to move around:

Just in case Norman is wondering, Dez Bryant is not just “some guy”. That’s all for today’s portion of OTAs, we’ll try to keep you as updated as possible throughout Phase 3 of the offseason.
