Several Dallas players are looking at reaching some interesting milestones on Sunday. Who will get theirs and will it be in victory?

It's a team game, but that team game is composed of individual performances. By themselves, no individual statistical achievement means much in terms of victory or defeat. How many times have we seen a quarterback throw for 400 yards because his team was trailing the entire game? Or a running back to get 70 yards in the fourth quarter of a blowout to crack the century mark? Individual stat milestones mean even less when a team is fighting to make it into the post season.

DeMarco Murray: The Thousand Yard Man?

It has been seven seasons since a Dallas running back has eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark, but now Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray stands on the threshold of doing just that.

DeMarco Murray: The Thousand Yard Man?

As Dawn Macelli pointed out earlier in the week, DeMarco Murray knows this is the case. Murray is chasing his first 1,000 yard season, but is more focused on winning than statistical measurements.

"I just worry about taking it one game at a time, doing whatever I can to help this team. I don’t know where the yards are. I’m not worried about it. I’m worried about victories.’’ - DeMarco Murray

But still, when all is said and done on a player's career, what's always mentioned? He rushed for over a 1,000 yards 5 times, or he caught 100 passes 6 different seasons. These things do matter, just in a different way than wins and losses.

This Sunday presents a unique opportunity, where several Cowboys players are within reasonable reach of individual markers. For the most part, no one has to have an extraordinary day to reach these levels, which means I'll have several tweets and facebook updates to make during the game (follow me @BloggingTheBoys and @KDP10For10) Here's a look at them:

QB Tony Romo
  • Needs 3 touchdown passes to reach 30 for the season (would be third time in career, first time since 2011)
  • Needs 256 passing yards to reach 3,500 for the season (would be fifth time in career)
  • Needs 19 passing yards to reach 29,000 for his career (already in 2nd place behind Aikman's 32,942)

RB DeMarco Murray
  • Needs 157 rushing yards to reach 1,000 for the season (would be first time reaching milestone)
  • Needs 97 rushing yards to reach 2,500 for his career (ranked 11th in team history)
  • Needs 15 carries to reach 500 for his career (ranked 13th in team history)

WR Dez Bryant
  • Needs 92 receiving yards to reach 1,000 for the season (would be second time, and second consecutive season, in his career)
  • Needs 221 receiving yards to reach 4,000 for his career
  • Needs 1 total touchdown to reach 40 for his career (37 receiving, 2 return touchdowns)
  • Needs 2 receiving touchdowns to pass Terrell Owens for 8th place in Cowboys history
  • Needs 12 receptions to pass Frank Clarke for 12th place in Cowboys history (currently has 270)

PR Dwayne Harris (Ruled Out)
  • Needs 122 return yards to reach 1,000 for the season (would be first time in career)

DT Jason Hatcher
  • Needs 1 sack to reach double-digit for the first time in his career

PK Dan "Split'Em" Bailey
  • Needs 3 points to reach 100 on the season (would mark third time in 3 career seasons over 100)
  • Needs 1 field goal to reach 20 on the season (also would be 3 in 3)
  • Neesd 2 field goals to pass Chris Boniol (81) into 2nd place in team history (leader: Rafael Septien (162)

LB Sean Lee (Ruled Out)
  • Needs 1 solo tackle or assist to reach 100 total tackles on the season (would mark second time in career)

TE Gavin Escobar
  • Needs 3 receptions to reach 10 for the season (HA!)

Of course, the only stat that truly matters is Dallas notching it's 8th win for the third consecutive season. This year, hopefully, they'll be able to surpass the milestone.
