Cowboys make a roster move.

The Dallas Cowboys will get back one of their suspended defensive linemen this week when Damontre Moore returns to the squad after a two-game suspension. It appears that Jayrone Elliott will be the guy to go to make that happen. He was acquired via a conditional seventh-round draft pick from the Packers right before the season.

The Cowboys have waived Jayrone Elliott, two weeks after acquiring him from Green Bay. Looks like he's the cut for Damontre' Moore.

And about that conditional pick?

Elliott was only active for 1 game during his time here, so I believe Cowboys get to keep the 2018 7th-round pick they gave up to get him

Damontre Moore showed a lot of promise as a pass-rushing defensive end in training camp and in preseason, and the Cowboys would welcome some more help in that area. After a few years in the league with plenty of potential but never getting his off-the-field act together, Moore looks like he might have turned the corner. This two-game suspension (DWI) is leftover from his time previous to joining the Cowboys, and since he’s been with Dallas he’s been doing everything asked of him.

The Cowboys only pass rusher making any kind of noise on the season is DeMarcus Lawrence. Having a threat opposite of Lawrence might really open thing up for the Cowboys pass rush. For that to happen, Moore will have to translate his strong offseason into real action during games that count. The Cowboys should get additional help in this area in two weeks when David Irving returns.

The Cowboys also waived OL Nate Theaker from the practice squad and re-signed safety Jameill Showers.
