The Dallas Cowboys made their first moves in the countdown to a 75-man roster when they let go of three players and moved another to IR. The Cowboys waived/injured defensive lineman Shaneil Jenkins, a mid-camp signee who had a decent couple of preseason games. Jenkins came over from the Denver Broncos and had two sacks in two preseason games including one sack that caused a fumble. He was also creating some disruption along the line and showing some skill. Unfortunately, he injured his knee and the Cowboys must not have thought there was not much chance he could help them anytime soon so they waived him.
Also waived/injured were linebacker James Morris and cornerback Jeremiah McKinnon. Neither player was showing enough in preseason to really warrant further consideration. Dallas also moved cornerback Josh Thomas to IR with a thumb injury. The Cowboys have until 4 PM EST Tuesday to get down to 75 men. The cut down to 53 is this coming Saturday.
