First it was the defensive line, now it's the linebackers.
If the Dallas Cowboys could count on anything this season it was injuries along the defensive line. Now the linebackers are the next group to be decimated. The trend continued today as Dallas put Justin Durant on IR. Durant has been battling hamstring issues (but of course he has, he does play for Dallas) and the team just didn't feel it was going to heal up in time for him to help. So another defensive player bites the dust. Sean Lee's status for this week is doubtful right now and he could also be out for the year. It's also up in the air on Bruce Carter and Ernie Sims, which means this week's linebacker corps could consist of rookies and backups along with Kyle Wilber.
Dallas also released defensive lineman Drake Nevis and linebacker Kyle Bosworth. They brought back Orie Lemon who they had waived last week to get Edgar Jones on the roster. In addition, running back George Win was cut from the practice squad.
Dallas is expected to sign special teams ace Michael Spurlock (wide receiver) who played with special teams coach Rich Bisaccia in San Diego. Look for Dallas to add another defensive lineman to the roster.
