After the Falcons debacle, Dallas is looking to get back to winning.

It has become an important week for the Dallas Cowboys. After suffering their first loss of the season against the Atlanta Falcons, the team now needs a win when they visit the New Orleans Saints. A victory in the Sunday night game would maintain their position as the leader in the NFC East. As Dawn Macelli outlined in her weakly BEast report, the division is now wide open, and at least one of the division rivals will get to 2-2 since the Philadelphia Eagles are at Washington.

Naturally, the Cowboys are busy working to get better. There have been several developments this week that might be important in helping them win. The biggest ones may be the return of a couple of players who missed the Atlanta game.

A healthy Ronald Leary may be the biggest news. Getting the offensive line right may be the most important step towards winning some games while waiting on Tony Romo, Dez Bryant, and the other players who will be getting on the field in the coming weeks. La'el Collins did well in his first NFL start, but the veteran guard will probably do a better job - and make Tyron Smith and Travis Frederick better as well. His attitude is one of those intangibles that are at times just as important as his physical skills.

Jeremy Mincey may be just as important for the defense after the struggles they had, especially on the line. He is one of the leaders on defense and, as with Leary, the team loses more than just his ability when he is not on the field. Success for the Cowboys is predicated on winning the battle in the trenches. It is good news to have two crucial pieces back for that.

Another development this week has a less certain impact on the game, but may stir much more excitement among the fans.

The Cowboys are getting RB Christine Michael ready to be the hammer http://t.co/8UuCfp3ajL

Ever since the Cowboys acquired Christine Michael from the Seattle Seahawks, there has been a steady stream of speculation about when he would get his chance, especially after the running game was less than impressive the first two games. Now, although Joseph Randle had his career-best day against the Falcons, Michael is getting serious work in practice. The speculation is that the team may have him on the 46-man game day roster, with Lucky Whitehead being the player he replaces. Whitehead has been almost nonexistent in games, and there is discussion of having Michael play special teams to completely fill his spot.

With the trouble Dallas had running the ball in the second half last week, Michael may be an option to try and break through defenses that stack the box like Atlanta did. It is all just a possibility right now, but if he does see the field and has any success at all, you can expect there to be a "running back controversy" - at least among the fans.

While Michael's star may be ascending, one other player's has fallen off the team. Davon Coleman was cut, and a comment by Rod Marinelli may have been about him.

Coleman had a history of not putting in the requisite effort as well as being something of a distraction in the locker room at times. It seems to have caught up with him.

The Cowboys are not showing any signs of dismay over things. They are just buckling down and getting ready to play the game. And it looks like the plan may be a bit more aggressive this week, based on a comment from Jason Witten.

Witten: Weeden has a strong arm and the ability to make the outside throws. I don't think anybody in this locker room is worried about that

All pieces of the puzzle. The Cowboys are getting ready. Everyone has to be all in. The staff is not going to let them do anything else.

Game on.
