Admittedly, not many people had this game ranked high on their list at the beginning of the year. The way everybody talked about the Dallas Cowboys before the season, this was supposed to be nothing more than a sacrificial lamb from Texas served up to the Seahawks. Now that the Cowboys have started the season 4-1, and looked pretty impressive along the way, the game has suddenly taken on a bigger significance. It's now among the games that will help determine NFC supremacy going into the middle portion of the schedule. The Cowboys can barge into that discussion with a win, although even a loss by Seattle wouldn't damage the Seahawks credentials much. If Dallas gets taken to the woodshed, though, they will have fight the perception that they've fattened up on an easy schedule and are not worthy yet.
As has been noted all week, the Cowboys possess one of the best running games in the league, but Seattle counters with one of the best run defenses. Seattle also has a fierce running game, but the Cowboys defense is suspect against the run. Could that be the determining factor? Or can the Cowboys passing game force the Seattle defense to play the whole field, opening things up for Dallas and bringing weapons like Dez Bryant in to play. This is indeed an intriguing matchup.
