Cowboys have signed a new wide receiver to a futures deal.

It’s been a busy day for the Dallas Cowboys. From firing offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, to signing a new wide receiver to a futures deal — the Cowboys have had a busy, busy day.

Ian Rapoport broke the news via his twitter account. Devin Smith was a second-round draft pick in the 2015 draft by the New York Jets. The chances of Devin Smith stepping in and making an immediate impact are slim, but this is a smart, cheap signing that could benefit the Cowboys if Devin Smith is able to stay healthy and use his elite-speed.
