Tyron Smith did something no lineman has done in a decade.

The Dallas Cowboys are becoming known around the NFL for their offensive line. Today, the NFL handed out the NFC offensive Player of the Week Award and that honor went to the Cowboys left tackle, Tyron Smith. It is a rare occurrence when the Player of the Week award goes to an offensive lineman. In fact, you have to all the way back to 2004 to find another offensive lineman who won the award, that was Brian Waters with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Smith helped pave the way for DeMarco Murray and the rest of the Cowboys backs in the Seattle game, leading to 162 rushing yards against the league's top rushing defense. The line also gave Tony Romo plenty of protection all day long and only had one sack, and that partially came because Romo slipped.

It's nice to see Smith receive this honor, especially since it is so rarely given to an offensive lineman, but I bet he'd be the first to tell you that he would share it with his other linemates. The job they are doing is truly setting the tone for everything the Cowboys have accomplished so far in 2014.
