A sampling of picks made for Sunday's Bears @ Cowboys game suggests the Cowboys are heavy favorites at home.

The Cowboys are seven-point favorites at home against Chicago, with the over/under set at 44.5. It's been a while since the Cowboys were favored against anybody, and the last time time the Cowboys were favored by a touchdown or more was in the 2015 season opener against the Giants, where the over/under at the time was set at 52.5.

In that game, the Cowboys found themselves trailing the Giants 23-13 in the fourth quarter before eventually winning the game on a couple of Eli Manning brain freezes by the slimmest of margins: 27-26. Will Sunday's game be an equally wild and close affair?

Here's what some prominent pigskin pundits foresee for the game:

The Bears' defense can make any offense look sterling. They aren't stout enough up front. Their back end is near the back end of the league among secondaries. Dak Prescott should be able to take advantage of the latter. Meanwhile, Chicago's front seven could get mauled by the Cowboys' offensive line. Now, Chicago's pass rush could get much-needed rest on the sideline if the Bears a) were to decide on a running back, or b) weren't starting Brian Hoyer. Unfortunately, I think Prescott will have enough time to check his Apple Watch and see how many of those No. 4 jerseys are moving on DallasCowboys.com

Brian Hoyer versus Dak Prescott! It’s just what the NBC and NFL executives were hoping for when they scheduled this one back in April. Jay Cutler is a big loss, but so is Bears defensive leader Lamarr Houston. Without him in the lineup, I expect Zeke Elliott to get going. Cowboys go 2-1.

Chicago bombed in prime-time last week, now gets another shot. This time it's with Brian Hoyer pitching for injured Jay Cutler, but I'm not sure that's a huge dropoff. The journyeman Hoyer is a credible 15-11 as a starter. And isn't Dak Prescott due a mistake or two? Upset, anyone? No. But worth a consideration.

The Bears looked awful Monday night and have a lot of injury issues. That will show up here. The Cowboys have done a nice job on offense without Tony Romo, and I expect Dak Prescott to have a big day in this one. Cowboys big.

The Bears might be better off with Brian Hoyer at quarterback than Jay Cutler, but this is a deeply flawed team. Rookie Dak Prescott is as advertised in Dallas, and its offensive line is excellent.

28-17 Brian Hoyer and Dak Prescott may not be ready for prime time, but prime time is ready for them. Advantage Cowboys, who hope to pile up as many wins as they can while Tony Romo works his way back from a fractured vertebrate.

Not that the Cowboys defense is scary by any stretch, but it’s not one that either an injured Jay Cutler or Brian Hoyer should enjoy facing. Yes, the Cowboys have the more reliable quarterback in this matchup, Dak Prescott, on career start No. 3. On the other hand, they’ve lost eight in a row at Jerry World.

The Bears were a mess with Jay Cutler, and they won’t be any better with Brian Hoyer. The Cowboys should win handily.

Every throw Dak Prescott attempts should come off play action; the Bears have no choice but to respect the run. That's when he'll connect with Dez Bryant and seal this one.

96% of the experts and algorithms tallied by NFLPickwatch.com favor the Cowboys over the Bears on Sunday, and while there seems to be a strong consensus for a Cowboys win, there's no consensus on the final score.
