The Cowboys looked beat, but rallied for the win.
It certainly wasn't the script the Dallas Cowboys had written for their playoff game against the Detroit Lions, but it was a happy ending after all. The Cowboys rallied to win their wild card playoff game over the Lions 24-20 in dramatic fashion as Tony Romo threw the winning touchdown with just over two minutes left in the game. That was Dallas' first lead in the game, they trailed 14-0 before the first quarter was even over. The Lions were controlling all aspects of the game and it looked like the Cowboys 12-4 season would end with a dud.
But the Cowboys never quit. The defense started to get better as the game progressed, allowing the Lions only six more points after the first quarter outburst by Matthew Stafford and company. Slowly but surely, the Cowboys offense started to move the football and managed to put together a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter. Key to the drive was converting a 4th and 6 at the Lions 43-yard line.
It wasn't the prettiest win for Dallas, but all it takes in the NFL playoffs is the victory. Dallas advances to play the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Filed next week.
