As we move ahead to second and third rounds today, who are the best players available to the Cowboys i?

CHICAGO, IL -The Dallas Cowboys started this process by taking perhaps the biggest immediate impact in running back Ezekiel Elliott, but they still have plenty of work ahead in these next few days. It came down to Elliott and Jalen Ramsey in the first round but the Cowboys decided that 2014 formula worked just perfect for them. Now, they have eight more picks to focus on, starting with two today. They need to do their best to avoid the headscratchers that we've seen with picks like Chaz Green of last season, though admittedly, the jury is still out.

Without further adieu, let's take a look at the list of players that could be available to the Cowboys with their first pick in the second round at 34th overall this evening:

Second Round

Myles Jack, LB, UCLA

We have to at least mention his name though there are some severe injury concerns. Jack,at one time, was considered one of the very best prospects in the draft. Unfortunately, that word microfracture has come up in regards to Jack. Still, a team willing to take a chance could find this paying huge dividends, though it is also quite the risk.

Mackensie Alexander, CB, Clemson

A brash young corner that plays with tremendous physicality and confidence. He's only 5'10 but plays a lot taller and the Cowboys considered a cornerback at 4th overall. They have a need to transform their secondary and have quite the bevy of questions at cornerback. His pro comparison is to that of Josh Norman as he locks on a guy and can carry him all over the field. He's also a tough-minded player that can get in the head of receivers.

Noah Spence, DE, Eastern Kentucky

Despite the petrified folks that would run scared of Spence, if he's there at 34, you almost have to take him. He is the very best pure pass rusher in this draft though past character concerns linger. Still, Spence was reported to have sent teams the past 20 drug tests he's had to take, passing them all. The Cowboys are weak on the defensive line. Spence just makes a lot of sense and fit for the Cowboys.

Kevin Dodd, DE, Clemson

Again, the Cowboys need to form a pass rush and they currently don't have one. Dodd is one of the pass rushers with the highest ceilings in the draft and could really go a long way in helping them get better on defense. Dodd knows how to convert speed and power and that something that will get him on the field. He's quick, strong and has heavy hands to disrupt off the edge.

Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Oklahoma State

Another player, another pass rusher. Do we get the hint now? The Cowboys need pass rusher and Ogbah probably fits that speed rusher I've been hollering about since Gregory got popped. Like Spence, he can bend the edge and doesn't play with any stiffness. Cowboys' need elite first step quickness and powerful limbs, Ogbah has both.

Reggie Ragland, ILB, Alabama

He's what you would call a throwback as he's that thumper in the middle.Should the Cowboys ever want to move on from Rolando McClain, Ragland can give them a linebacker that's ready to contribute early and be the eventual starter.

A'Shawn Robinson, DT, Alabama

Robinson was expected to go in the first round. The Cowboys could attack the pass rush situation by adding another big body to the interior of the line. Collapsing the middle of the pocket can put QBs off their game.

Jarran Reed, DT, Alabama

See above.

After going full-steam on defense for pick 34, let's look at the third round. Now, let's take a look at the Cowboys' pick at 67 and see who could be lying around.

Third Round

Hassan Ridgeway, DT, Texas

My favorite Cowboys-centric defensive tackle in the draft should be around in the third. He plays with great disruption and has versatility to play both spots in the middle. Ridgeway is a hard-nosed competitor that flashes at you in major ways. He's a loadto deal with, a load that nobody will see coming.

Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State

I don't think you see the Cowboys show much excitement for Connor Cook or Christian Hackenberg in the second round. Prescott may have been one their targets all along and getting him at 67 means he'll compete right away with Kellen Moore, something they desperately need to address.

Xavien Howard, CB, Baylor

Kid reminds me of a poor man's Richard Sherman. He's got length and size and knows how to use his hands and abilities in the right ways. He can turn and mirror the receivers and has a lot of toughness, the Cowboys are a fan of Baylor and could find a true value with Howard in the third.

Isaac Seumalo, OG/C, Oregon State

The Cowboys like offensive linemen and have become a factory for them. After losing Mackenzy Bernadeau, they went out and signed career backup Joe Looney. However, Seumalo is a better fit and a lot younger. This is a guy that can do multiple things for your football team and is good enough to start tomorrow.

Zack Sanchez, CB, Oklahoma

Tough competitor that has seen a lot of bigger wide receivers and talented offenses in his time at Oklahoma. The way the NFL loves playmaking defensive backs, it's silly how he hasn't risen up yet. With the run on defensive backs at the end of the first, that could change and Sanchez could be something special.

Ronald Blair, DE, Appalachian State

Blair is getting drafted off that Clemson tape but there aren't too many more pass rushers that are as impressively menacing as Blair. He's a tough player that can play both inside and out with an extremely high motor. These pass rushers are flying and the Cowboys could show the willingness to double-dip. Lord knows I would if I were the Joneses.
