News: BTB: Dallas Cowboys Make Full Use Of NFL's 90-Man Roster Limit

A look at the Cowboys' first 2014 90-man roster.

The Cowboys have exactly 90 players, the maximum allowed under NFL rules, on their offseason roster right now.

That roster will change frequently over the coming days and weeks, but because the Cowboys are maxed out against the 90-player limit, every single new signing will have to be accompanied by a player being released who is currently on the roster.

Yesterday, Dave Halprin informed us that the Cowboys had released six players to make room for the new acquisitions. Those moves had become necessary for the Cowboys to accommodate their 24 newly signed college free agents on their roster.

In total, the 90 Cowboys players are comprised as follows:

• 45 players returning from last season.
  
• 24 college free agents signed over the last three days.
• 9 rookies drafted in the 2014 NFL draft.
• 7 players signed as free agents since the end of the season.
  
• 5 players signed to reserve/future contracts earlier this year.
