5 things to watch as Dallas Cowboys begin training camp-Roy Lang- Shreveport Times
A new-look defense and young stars on offense take center stage in California
The Cowboys haven’t won back-to-back division titles since 1995-96. Dallas posted a 12-4 record in 2014 and followed with a disastrous 4-12 season. After an 11-5 2009 season, the Cowboys posted a 6-10 mark. After a 13-3 effort and the No. 1 NFC seed in 2007, Dallas finished third in the NFC East at 9-7.

Cowboys defensive lineman David Irving did not report to the start of training camp on Friday, but will join the team in California.

Dallas Cowboys' ballyhooed offensive line isn't without questions- Todd Archer- ESPN
The Cowboys boast three Pro Bowlers on their offensive line, but there is still some uncertainty at left guard and right tackle.
Left guard (Jonathan Cooper): The former top-10 pick will get the first crack in camp and should fend off all comers. He has strength and moves well enough.
Accuser of Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott posts on social media one year later- Vince Langford- Fort Worth Star-Telegram
The woman accusing Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott of domestic violence has posted a statement relating to the situation, TMZ reported Saturday, July 22.
Ezekiel Elliott’s accuser issued a statement Saturday in a social media post, saying that "exactly 1 year ago today my life changed forever," the website TMZ Sports reported.
She calls her relationship "very toxic." She did not mention Elliott by name.
Tony Romo and Dez Bryant have Ezekiel Elliott’s back -Kevin Modisette- Cowboys Wire
The Cowboys former franchise quarterback and elite receiver come to the defense of Ezekiel Elliott's actions.
It’s clear both Romo and Bryant understand the kind of issues that becoming a star of the Dallas Cowboys at such a young age can bring. This doesn’t mean Elliott doesn’t need to mature, but instead that his lack of maturity off the field shouldn’t lead people to believe that he is a lost cause. More than anyone, Bryant knows how off-field incidents can create the image of a locker room distraction for a young player. Bryant is a perfect example of the growth in maturity an NFL player can have over their career.
Cowboys signed guy not ready for training camp, place another on PUP -K.D. Drummond- Cowboys Wire
The Dallas Cowboys have just two players not ready to lace them up with training camp starts on Monday afternoon. Justin Durant is going on the NFI list and Richard Ash will be on the PUP list.
Durant worked out for the Cowboys earlier in the week and signed on Thursday, marking his fourth season and third stint with the Cowboys on the tail end of his career. The last several years Durant has been coaxed out of retirement. At this time, it’s not clear whether his designation is simply about having time to get into shape or whether Durant has an undisclosed injury he needs to recover from.
Kurt Warner said he’d rather build around Dak Prescott than Carson Wentz -RJ Ochoa- Blogging The Boys
In two weeks we’ll be celebrating Kurt Warner going into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Today we celebrate his brilliance as he said he’d rather build around Dak Prescott than Carson Wentz.
"I’m gonna go with the Cowboys. I’m gonna go with Dak. The reason I say that is, you know I got a chance to get to know Dak a little bit. And his demeanor is unique that, you know, he came into all this so quickly and kind of fell into it and had great success, and it doesn’t ever seem to be too big for him."
Dallas Cowboys board charter for training camp, complete with photo roll call- Mark Lane- All-22
The Dallas Cowboys boarded their charter flight Saturday to head to Oxnard, Calif., for training camp.
Another man with a reason to smile is offensive lineman La’el Collins. With left guard Ron Leary gone to Denver in free agency and right tackle Doug Free retired, Collins is assured a starting spot on the Cowboys offensive line. The undrafted free agent from LSU in 2015 has starting-caliber talent. Offensive line coach Frank Pollack’s job is to figure out where those talents are best suited to keep the Dallas front line as the most dominant in the NFL.
Projecting suspensions, NFI, and the 53-man roster –Bobby Belt- Cowboys Blitz Network
So before we all fall in love with that undrafted free agent that we’ll fight to unrealistically keep in our roster projections, here is my pre-euphoria prediction for the final roster.
[Damien] Wilson is tricky. It’s very possible he’s not suspended by opening week since his legal case probably won’t be worked out by then. I feel like the NFL will throw something at him though, and it will likely be more lenient than the baseline punishment for his offense of six games.
Which departed free agent do you think the Cowboys will miss the most this season? -Matt Mosley SportsDay
Contributor Matt Mosley recently held a chat to discuss all things Cowboys, here's who he believes the Cowboys will miss most.
Mosley: "I'd go with Barry Church. He wasn't a great player, but he was steady. And he had a calming impact on the secondary. I hate it for Lord Byron that he's gone. When Darren Woodson retired, Roy Williams sort of cratered. I don't think that will happen to Byron, but it might be a setback temporarily. Why is everyone just fine with Jeff Heath starting?"
Philly writer says Jerry Jones should thank Eagles’ fans for putting him in NFL Hall of Fame -Michael Sisemore- Blogging The Boys
Well, this is a new one, Philly writer believes that Jerry Jones should thank Eagles fans for his Hall of Fame bid?
The enemy’s constant attention to the Dallas Cowboys was forged long before he was the owner. That can be said for all the majorly successful NFL teams over the years. You see it with the Patriots, Packers, Steelers, 49ers, and more recently with the Seahawks too. Sure, Sielski is right when he mentions the Cowboys’ lack of success in the past two decades. Still, it doesn’t matter how long it’s been since they’ve won their rings, Jerry has three and that will never be untrue.
Commanders DB Josh Norman on Cowboys QB Dak Prescott’s NFC East guarantee: 'Get past me'- Jon Schlosser- All 22
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott already claimed the Cowboys were going to win the NFC East, and Washington Commanders CB Josh Norman said they need to get past him. NEWSFLASH: They did...twice...last season.
"Well, I don’t think there is a floor to take," Norman said after a slight pause. "When we strap up both of them chin straps, get that helmet on, tighten them pants up just a little bit tighter than normal. And we gonna dig our cleats down in that grass, look the guy dead in his eye, and just tell him ‘get past me.’ And we’ll see what happens when those four quarters are up. We’ll see who reigns victorious, man."
