The Cowboys opened as three-point underdogs against the Eagles for next Sunday's matchup.

When CG Technology, formerly known as Cantor Gaming, released lines for every single NFL game between Week 1 and 16, 2017 in early May this year, they had the Cowboys as 7-point favorites at home against the Eagles in Week 11.

At that time, the Cowboys' 13-3 record and the Eagles' 7-9 record from 2016 was still fresh on everybody's mind. But that was then, and this now: The 8-1 Eagles visit the 5-4 Cowboys in Dallas in Week 11, and the line for the game has shifted quite a bit.

On Sunday, the Eagles are three-point favorites, according to boomaker.eu. The same site also offers this little nugget of statistical wisdom:

Of the prior 10 times Philadelphia has traveled to Dallas as a favorite, the Eagles have emerged as winners on nine occasions.

As usual, keep in mind that the lines offered by the oddsmakers don't necessarily reflect the actual chances of either team winning the game, as the lines are usually set to encourage betting and to make sure that the money being bet is spread 50/50 over both teams (the key to remaining a profitable bookmaker).

While opening odds reflect the bookmakers' best guess as to where the action will remain even on both sides of the bet, the bookmakers could easily adjust the line to reflect the betting public's betting pattern, so we'll likely see some movement of the line over the course of the week.

In Week 2, Denver put a beating on the Cowboys to the tune of 42-17, but the Cowboys responded and beat Arizona the next week. Dak Prescott expects the same to happen this week after losing 27-7 in Atlanta.

Dak Prescott: “We got our ***** kicked. ... That’s what happend in Denver. We got better from it. We’ll get better from this one as well.”
