Who earned this week’s game ball after a disappointing loss?

Well, that was a disappointing way to lose a game.

After taking an eight point lead into the break, the Dallas Cowboys failed to step on the Rams’ throats and put them away. Jared Goff had his way with Dallas’ secondary, Todd Gurley accounted for more than 200 yards of total offense, and the Cowboys’ offense became stagnant in the third quarter.

That said, there were a couple of bright moments. Dak’s incredible plays in which he avoided Aaron Donald and hit Dez Bryant for a big gain and later when he rolled out of the pocket and found Brice Butler for six. Zeke finally found holes and reached the end zone on multiple occasions. For that, he earns this week’s Game Ball.

Ezekiel Elliott had a helluva game for the Dallas Cowboys. After being mostly bottled up during the first three weeks of the season, Zeke finally found some daylight and he made the defense pay. He was accelerating through holes, used his vision to find the open field, and broke off some big gains over the course of the day. Whether it was in the passing game or carrying the rock, 21 came to play on Sunday.

In his biggest game of the season, Zeke touched the ball 25 times for a total of 139 yards and two scores. His ability to keep drives alive was huge for the Cowboys for the majority of the game, despite him not reaching the 100-yard mark on the ground.

Here was Zeke’s celebration for his first score — using his towel as a bib to go along with his “Feed Zeke” theme.

It is no secret that the Cowboys are at their best when Zeke and the run game gets going. Dak is a more than capable quarterback, but the offense reaches an even higher level when the Cowboys are able to run the ball down opponent’s throats. Dallas had a lot of success with this in the first half, jumping out to a thirteen point lead at one point.

Unfortunately, Jared Goff and the Rams’ league-leading scoring offense came storming back after the break and eventually took over the lead.

Nonetheless, Zeke had a solid game in week four. He was able to find some running room and was effective as a receiver out of the backfield. Here’s hoping this is the start of Zeke finding his 2016 form. He earns BTB’s Game Ball of the Week.
