Jason Garrett has told the media for the San Francisco 49ers that wide receiver Dez Bryant has a slight hairline fracture in his knee. Coach Garrett was doing a regular call with the opposing team’s media when he revealed the information. He says they are still hopeful that Bryant can play on Sunday but that they do not know yet.

Bryant hurt the knee early in the Bears game but managed to play with the injury. The good news out of all of this is that it’s not anything to do with ligaments, it doesn’t sound like it’s too serious if they are actually considering playing him on Sunday.
Of course all Cowboys fans know what Dez means to the team, not just on the field but in his enthusiasm and drive to keep the team competing at all times. Rookie quarterback Dak Prescott could certainly use Bryant’s abilities on Sunday, but the team also needs to be smart about Bryant’s long-term health.

On conference call with 49ers reporters, Dallas coach Jason Garrett says WR Dez Bryant has a hairline fracture in his knee: "Dez got his knee evaluated here the last few days," Garrett said. "He did not practice today and we're hopeful that he'll be able to play. We're taking the situation day by day, hopefully he can do something tomorrow. He has a slight hairline fracture in one of the bones of his knees. We don't think it's something that's going to keep him out for an extended period of time but again it's going to be a day by day, week by week situation."
