Zeke is looking slim and trim for the 2021 season.
Dallas Cowboys football is officially back! The team has arrived in Oxnard, California and already has their first practice under their belt. There’s a lot of exciting news already after Thursday’s practice and one topic of interest has to be Ezekiel Elliott’s new slim and trim look.
Celebrating his 26th birthday at Thursday’s practice, Zeke took the time to talk with reporters and share what he’s been doing over the offseason to prepare for the 2021 season.

Ezekiel Elliott seems as if he’s more motivated than ever after coming off his worst NFL season in 2020. His career-low 979 rushing yards and six touchdowns last season with just a handful of explosive plays made him reevaluate his game over the offseason, leaving him leaner and meaner than ever according to reports.
“Just having the year I had last year, you don’t need more motivation than that,” Elliott said after the Cowboys’ first training camp practice. “I just know the type of player I am. I don’t think I showed that last year. I got a lot to prove. I just made sure I didn’t leave any doubt out there that I didn’t do as much as I needed to do.”
In addition to being motivated, Elliott focused on improving his quickness and nutrition over the offseason and is 10 pounds down from last year’s playing weight at 218. He credits his running back coach Josh Hicks helping with this short area quickness and his personal chef for is new slim and trim frame.
“I’ve heard as you get older in this league you want to start losing weight and nutrition has played a big part of that,” Elliott said. “Shoutout to my chef, Chef Hoppie, for getting me right and getting me lean and ready for the season. I feel good where I am.”
Believe it or not, but this is the slimmest he’s been dating back to his days at Ohio State. He’s out to prove all of his doubters wrong, and that 2020 was just a bad season and not evidence that he’s not lost a step.
“Prove it to myself. I do it for my teammates. I think the hardest part about last year is you feel like you let your teammates down. That hurts,” said Elliott, who also fumbled six times in 2020. “I want to make sure I put my best step forward and do everything I need to do to help this team win.”
Whether you choose believe him or not, it’s certainly looking as if Zeke is highly motivated to prove once again why he was considered one of the top running backs in the league not too long ago. He’ll continue to have plenty of doubters despite his new physique, but no one can say he hasn’t put in the work to be the best he can be for the Dallas Cowboys in 2021.
