Another Dallas free agent is getting attention.
Justin Durant and Dwayne Harris are reported to be gone. DeMarco Murray and Bruce Carter have active suitors. Now another Dallas Cowboys free agent, Henry Melton, is discussing a new deal. He is reported to be visiting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Per @JennaLaineBucs #Bucs will be bringing in Henry Melton tomorrow. Played for Lovie and Marinelli both, good possible fit. #HookEm

This is the result of two things. First, the Cowboys had 16 unrestricted free agents coming into free agency. And second, they had a 12-4 record and got to the second round of the playoffs. In one season, the image of the Cowboys has completely changed. And that comes with a price: Other teams now covet the winners they had on their roster. With the Cowboys sitting back and planning on not spending too much on the free agents they do decide to pursue, the one consolation is that the compensatory draft picks the team will get in 2016 will be numerous and high. This won't just be a handful of end of the draft, UDFA level players that the Cowboys will be getting with them, but good midround talent that can help sooner rather than later.
It still is a little painful to watch the players that used to wear the Star go elsewhere, but that is the reality of the league. And things are just getting started.
