The Cowboys made a roster move today.

The Dallas Cowboys gathered for their Thursday practice with some familiar faces returning to the field, and one slightly new face added to the festivities. Tony Romo is back practicing after taking his customary Wednesday off, so everything is on schedule there. Jeremy Mincey was also back at practice after missing yesterday to attend a funeral. Linebacker Dekoda Watson is still not practicing.

But the news of the day concerns the defensive line. Josh Brent is sitting out today's practice after "tweaking" his calf in Wednesday's practice. Coach Jason Garrett called it a "tweak" which would lead one to believe that Brent is sitting out for precautionary reasons, but nothing has been confirmed. We'll have to wait and see if he practices on Friday.

The Cowboys also made a roster move. The Cowboys had released cornerback Micah Pellerin because Tyler Patmon is back and practicing. Garrett on Boatright:

"Boat’s been just doing a really good job for us. He’s one of those guys that’s good for our team, because he kind of came from nowhere and proved that he deserved to belong and deserved an opportunity," Garrett said.

Will Boatright be active this week? Probably not, but the Cowboys have certainly been having issues putting pressure on the quarterback recently. And DeMarcus Lawrence is returning from missing the Chicago game with injury. But more than likely Boatright will be insurance and someone they try to develop. The Cowboys could also be rewarding a guy who has worked really hard and improved, sending a message to the rest of their players.
