The latest updates on the status of the Ezekiel Elliott appeal.
Ezekiel Elliott’s appeal of his six-game suspension is scheduled to be heard on Tuesday, August 29th. According to Mike Florio at Pro Football Talk, the NFL’s representative tasked with hearing the appeal, Harold Henderson, has already made some preliminary rulings. These rulings have nothing to do with the suspension itself. Instead, they affect how the appeal will be heard.
Per a league source, Henderson has denied a request from Elliott’s representatives to make his accuser... available to testify. Henderson also has denied requests for notes or transcripts of meetings with [Elliott’s accuser].
Instead, Henderson has required only that Kia Roberts, who was involved in the investigation on the league’s behalf, be available to testify.
Florio, a former lawyer, contends that this denies Elliott and his legal team an opportunity to question his accuser. He also points out that this means both Roger Goodell and Harold Henderson, the two men deciding Elliott’s fate, will have yet to meet with and directly question the accuser in the incident.
Elliott is reportedly going to attend the appeal in person.

The Cowboys are expected to play Elliott in their upcoming preseason game, although we won't know for sure until game time.
