Any Cowboys’ fans nervous here?

NFL Draft season is such a fun and interesting experience in general, but out on the streets of social media it can hit another gear.

People love Prospect A, hate Prospect B, and are convinced that Prospect C’s skills are going to translate. You can’t be wrong, because no one knows the answers yet.

Leading up to the 2016 NFL Draft, when the Cowboys had the fourth overall pick, many Dallas fans were looking to find the team’s next great pass rusher.

This led to interest in defensive end Joey Bosa, hailing from The Ohio State University. As soon as that interest got off the ground, the overwhelming force of the internet destroyed it.

It is a rarity that the internet itself ever reaches a consensus on anything, but Dallas Cowboys fans generally had a disdain for the idea of Bosa being the name the Cowboys called in Chicago.

Thankfully, for them, the then San Diego Chargers took Bosa before the Cowboys ever had a chance with the third overall pick. Dallas took his OSU teammate and former roommate, running back Ezekiel Elliott.

That’s when all hell broke loose. Bosa had a contract situation with the Chargers, it got resolved, then he took the field and racked up 10.5 sacks through 12 games, earning Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.

Fast forward to now, Thanksgiving week as the Cowboys get ready to host the Chargers. Th Dallas Buckeye is a third of the way into his long-fought suspension, and their All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith may or may not be on the field to help stop Bosa, who has already matched his 2016 sack total 10 games into 2017.

Not only does Joey Bosa already have a double-digit sack count, but he and the Chargers are coming off one of their more impressive performances of the season, a 54-point drubbing of the Buffalo Bills.

Most Cowboys fans that were anti-Bosa have already waved the white flag in that regard, admitting that they were wrong. This is fair and mature.

What if Joey Bosa holds a grudge, though? And what if he channels it on Thanksgiving Day? Especially if Tyron Smith isn’t there?

Let’s all hope that Joey Bosa is a forgiving guy if he reads social media, or that the pre-draft idea of him is who he plays like this week.
