Irvin also expands on the idea that the accuser had gotten into a fight previous to the incident with Elliott.
Michael Irvin was speaking to Rich Eisen on his show this afternoon about the Ezekiel Elliott domestic violence allegations. Irvin had already spoken to Elliott earlier and the Cowboys running back proclaimed his innocence to Irvin, and the former Cowboys wide receiver was relaying that information to Eisen. During the interview, Irvin got a call from Elliott and took the call while the show went to break. When they returned, Irvin relayed that Elliott again said he was innocent, this time adding that Elliott told him he didn't come within 10 feet of his accuser at the time when she was in her car, and that they believe her injuries were from a previous fight she had gotten into and that they are looking for videotape of that incident.
You can hear the full interaction between Irvin and Eisen in the clip below.
As expected, Elliott's family is backing him up with his father releasing this statement.
Statement from Ezekiel Elliott's father, Stacy Elliott: "The reported allegations and Internet postings regarding our son are completely false. Ezekiel has done nothing wrong. The police have investigated this matter and eyewitnesses have verified the lack of any wrongdoing. The actual evidence in this matter clearly indicates what the real motivation was behind the police being called. We are confident that when the truth comes to light it will reveal the falsity of these claims. Ezekiel has been fully cooperative with the police and will continue to do so—along with cooperating with the NFL—moving forward."
As the situation continues to unfold, we will continue to pass along information. Domestic violence is a serious problem in this country, so we want to be sensitive to all sides on this issue. If more information emerges from the accuser's side of the story, we would absolutely pass that on.
