The DallasCowboys.com staff published five full-round mock drafts on Friday which we review and vote on today.

On Friday, the mothership's five writers opened their mock draft season with a bang by simultaneously unveiling their first mock drafts of the year on DallasCowboys.com.

Since we do regular mock draft roundups here on BTB that feature just about any yahoo out there, I think it is only fitting that we review what the DallasCowboys.com staff have put together. Not because we consider them yahoos like some of the national writers with, at best, a marginal understanding of the Cowboys, but because those five staff writers are about as close to the team as it gets, and are much more in tune with the general fan consensus than any national writer can be. As a result, their mocks should be much better than many of the mocks we regularly review here.

Having said that, the same caveats apply to these mock drafts as they do to any other mock draft: as a predictor of what will actually happen in May, they are close to useless. Case in point: the DC.com staff did the exact same exercise a year ago, and their 30 combined picks (in their five six-round mocks) hit on just two eventual Cowboys picks - Bryan Broaddus had J.J. Wilcox in the fifth (he was picked in the third) and Nick Eatman had Joseph Randle in the third (he was taken in the fifth). Don't take this as a knock on the DC.com guys, this is par for the course for mock drafts.

In addition to the five mock drafts, each writer also provides an analysis of his own mock draft, which is well worth reading in the original article. But what that original article fails to do for the second year running, whether by omission or by design, is have its readers vote on which mock they like the best. And that's where we come in and provide a free, no strings attached service for the mothership: We've listed the five mock drafts below, and attached a poll at the end of the post in which you can vote on your favorite mock.

I tried to post the table of picks but I can't get it to look right so please review the article if you're interested. I thought there were some picks I found interesting esp the Connor Shaw pick in the fifth which I really like. He's a pretty fast guy who can run and while he doesn't throw a pretty ball he seems to have very good ability to hit those long passes well.
