Here are your starts and sits for week 12 of fantasy football action.
It’s that time again. Here are your fantasy start and sits for Week 12.
NOTE: This is a list of players who are on the bubble when it comes to deserving a starting spot for the week. Obvious choices won’t be mentioned, and likewise - some under-the-radar guys, will. Advising you to start Tom Brady offers no value to you as a fantasy owner.
Must Starts
Quarterback
Marcus Mariota vs. Colts- The Colts have been one of the worst defenses at stopping quarterbacks. They have surrendered the sixth-most points overall and four Top-10 finishes in their past seven games.
Ben Roethlisberger vs. Packers- He went off for almost 30 points last week and is home again for the Packers. Green Bay has allowed top quarterback performances in three of their last six games.
Running Back
DeMarco Murray vs. Colts- He’s been hard to trust as of late but give him a shot against the Colts. In three games against them as a Titan, he’s scored no less than 16.9 points. He’s worth it this week.
Tevin Coleman vs. Buccaneers- Tampa Bay is allowing 30 PPR points per contest to running backs. They have also allowed seven touchdowns from scrimmage to running backs.
Wide Receiver
Mohamed Sanu vs. Buccaneers- Sanu has been red-hot and he’s a big reason while the Falcons have been on a little roll as of late. He’s averaged at least 11 points in the past four games. Against Tampa, expect him to continue against the sixth-worst passing defense.
Mike Wallace vs. Texans- He’s found pay dirt in two straight contests and has been the go-to guy for Joe Flacco. Against one of the worst secondaries, roll with Wallace for another week.
Tight End
Delanie Walker vs. Colts- Wash...rinse...repeat. The Colts defense is surprisingly bad everywhere and Walker should see his numbers rise this weekend.
Jared Cook vs. Broncos- Denver is allowing almost 20 points per game to tight ends and 90+ receiving yards too. Cook has been inconsistent but he’s got a big opportunity this week.
Defense
Eagles vs. Bears- This is the duh pick of the week as the hottest defense in football right now gets a weakened Bears squad. It’s not going to be pretty.
Bengals vs. Browns- Any time you are up against the Browns, start the opposing defense as they will get ample opportunities for double-digit points.
Sit Them Down
Quarterback
Derek Carr vs. Broncos- It’s less about Denver and more about Carr, he can’t be trusted. He’s only averaged one touchdown pass in six of his last seven games.
Jared Goff vs. Saints- New Orleans has been tough on quarterbacks as of late allowing only four touchdown passes. They haven’t allowed a Top-20 finish to quarterbacks since week one.
Running Back
Jordan Howard vs. Eagles- Howard is on bust alert against an Eagles team that has been tough on runners. They are the best rushing defense in the league and Howard isn’t going to break that trend.
Joe Mixon vs. Browns- Normally, we would tell you to start everyone against Cleveland but Mixon is a bust this week. His offensive line has played like hot garbage and it’s taking it’s toll on Mixon’s production.
Wide Receiver
Jordy Nelson vs. Steelers- He’s been absolutely non-existent in the Packers offense since Aaron Rodgers went down. At this point, you’re only hurting yourself to continue starting him.
Larry Fitzgerald vs. Jaguars- Jacksonville have been absolutely terrorizing wide receivers and have only allowed a single touchdown on the road. It’s not going to be easy to fly for the Cardinals.
Tight End
Charles Clay vs. Chiefs- He was a must-sit last week and only put up 5.7 points, it’s not going to get any easier. The Chiefs have surrendered one touchdown and the third-fewest points to tight ends this season.
Julius Thomas vs. Patriots- He’s been on the upswing as of late but he’s about to run into a New England wall. The Pats have only allowed an average of less than 50 yards per game and only two touchdowns from the position this season.
Defense
Bills vs. Chiefs- The Chiefs have been struggling as of late but they are still allowing the fifth-fewest points to defenses. Expect the Chiefs offense to bounce back in a big way this week.
Saints vs. Rams- Though their defensive improvement has been a big reason they’re atop the NFC, beware of starting them in this matchup. The Rams put up points in bunches and it’s not coming to a screeching halt this week.
