Here are your starts and sits for week 11 of fantasy football action.
It’s that time again. Here are your fantasy start and sits for Week 11.
NOTE: This is a list of players who are on the bubble when it comes to deserving a starting spot for the week. Obvious choices won’t be mentioned, and likewise - some under-the-radar guys, will. Advising you to start Tom Brady offers no value to you as a fantasy owner.
Must Starts
Quarterback
Carson Wentz vs. Cowboys- Wentz is one of the best performers in fantasy football with five 20+ point performances this season. On the road, he’s averaging 20-point performances and will be able to take advantage of a defense without Sean Lee.
Derek Carr vs. Patriots- He’s had it rough as of late, failing to get above 14 points in all but one of his last six games. Well, thankfully, he gets a Patriots team that is giving up the second-most points to quarterbacks and has allowed five Top-10 finishes this season.
Running Back
Chris Thompson vs. Saints- “Fat-Rob” isn’t on his way back this week and that means the ball will be going to the versatile fantasy sensation. The Saints have allowed four running backs to finish inside the Top-20.
Jordan Howard vs. Lions- His production has been slowed as of late but expect him to bounce back against Detroit. The Lions have given up five straight games of Top-20 rushing performances.
Wide Receiver
Jarvis Landry vs. Buccaneers- He’s on a roll, scoring 12+ points in five of the last six games and five touchdowns. Against Tampa, they are allowing 197 yards per game and the third-most PPR points to receivers this season.
Sterling Shepard vs. Chiefs- He was awesome last week against the 49ers and this week will get a Chiefs’ secondary that is allowing the most points to receivers this season. On the road, Kansas City has allowed 10 touchdowns and average 47 PPR points per contest to the position, they’ve also allowed six scores out of the slot.
Tight End
Evan Engram vs. Chiefs- Though the Chiefs have only allowed one score and the seventh-fewest points but Engram has defied all projections. Engram has scored in four straight games, give him a whirl.
Cameron Brate vs. Dolphins- He’s looking to bounce back from a stinker against the Jets. The Dolphins give up the fifth-most PPR points to tight ends this season allowing over 15 points per game.
Defense
Chargers vs. Bills- With the news that Tyron Taylor has been benched for rookie Nathan Peterman, expect the pass rush of the Chargers to cause some trouble for Buffalo.
Chiefs vs. Giants- New York has allowed three Top-10 finishes to opposing defenses this season, they also turn the ball over regularly which is a positive sign for Kansas City.
Sit Them Down
Quarterback
Matt Ryan vs. Seahawks- I know he had a decent outing against the Cowboys but he only put up 16 points. Even considering that the Seahawks will be without Richard Sherman, he’s not a good choice this week. Seattle has only allowed one quarterback to finish higher than 13th this season.
Matthew Stafford vs. Bears- He may be red-hot as a fantasy option but the Bears are allowing less than 13 points to quarterbacks at Soldier Field. Stafford has only reached higher than 15 points in two of eight career games in the Windy City.
Running Back
Joe Mixon vs. Broncos- It’s hard to sit a guy who’s been scoring touchdowns the last few weeks but the Broncos are allowing 70 rushing yards at home this season. It’s highly unlikely that Mixon breaks through this run defense.
Lamar Miller vs. Cardinals- Ever since the unfortunate season-ending injury for DeShaun Watson, the whole offense has kind of sputtered. Miller has averaged 58 yards in each of the past two games and Arizona is allowing the seventh-fewest amount of points to runners.
Wide Receiver
Jordy Nelson vs. Ravens- He’s watching his numbers drastically decrease with Brett Hundley. He has less than 15 PPR points over the last three games and hasn’t scored a touchdown since week 5.
Sammy Watkins vs. Vikings- He’s been enjoying some big time performances over the past few weeks but now he runs into the Vikings. Minnesota allows the fourth-fewest points to receivers with their solid secondary.
Tight End
Martellus Bennett vs. Raiders- Who knows what is going on with Bennett this season but you can guarantee he’s not going to be a factor with Rob Gronkowski on the field. He was only in nine offensive snaps last week.
Eric Ebron vs. Bears- He had a very good performance last week but he should sit against a Bears defense allowing the ninth-fewest points and only two scores to tight ends.
Defense
Commanders vs. Saints- The trend of low production will continue for the Commanders as the Saints allow less than four points per game to defenses.
Cowboys vs. Eagles- In two weeks, the Cowboys have scored a combined eight points and the Eagles offense is a brutal matchup. Defenses have averaged 5.3 points per game against Philadelphia.
Must-Start Dallas Cowboy of the Week:
Jason Witten- If they’re not forced to use him as a blocker on the left side for every play, he can take advantage of an Eagles team that struggles to defend the position. Witten has scored 10+ points in all but three career games against the Eagles.
Must-Sit Dallas Cowboy of the Week:
Alfred Morris- This is just a bad matchup for the Cowboys as they have some issues finding consistency on the offensive line without Tyron Smith. Still, the Eagles are also the best run defense in fantasy football allowing 43 yards per game.
