Here are you starts and sits for week nine of fantasy football action.

It’s that time again. Here are your fantasy start and sits for Week 9.

NOTE: This is a list of players who are on the bubble when it comes to deserving a starting spot for the week. Obvious choices won’t be mentioned, and likewise - some under-the-radar guys, will. Advising you to start Tom Brady offers no value to you as a fantasy owner.

Must Starts

Quarterback


Alex Smith vs. Cowboys- The Chiefs are one of the hottest offenses in the league and the Cowboys have allowed four quarterbacks to reach over 18 points. The Cowboys allowed two of those 18+ passers at home.

Matthew Stafford vs. Packers- The Packers have not been able to stop quarterbacks over the last three weeks, allowing two passers to finish Top-10. Stafford has thrown 16 touchdowns at Lambeau Field.

Running Back


Alvin Kamara vs. Buccaneers- Kamara has seen his workload increase over the last several weeks and Tampa is allowing the second-most points to the position in PPR leagues.

Aaron Jones vs. Lions- Jones has really put up some solid performances and the Lions have allowed four backs to finish Top-20 in the last five games. Expect a lot of carries for the rookie.

Wide Receiver


Larry Fitzgerald vs. 49ers- He and Drew Stanton have a solid connection and he had two touchdowns with 81 yards last time with Stanton. Who did they play? The 49ers.

Devin Funchess vs. Falcons- Atlanta has struggled to stop receivers. In the past three weeks, it’s been worse, four have reached Top-20, with two receivers going Top-6 or better.

Tight End


Evan Engram vs. The Rams- Not only is he one of the last healthy targets for Eli Manning but he’s also fourth in targets. The Rams are allowing the fourth-fewest points but Engram will be forced to be a part of their offense this week.

Jack Doyle vs. Texans- Doyle has been one of the better tight ends in fantasy football. This week he gets a favorable matchup against the Texans, who have allowed three tight ends to finish Top-5 this season.

Defense


Jaguars vs. Bengals- Cincinnati is giving up a staggering 12+ points to opposing defenses at home. Sacksonville is going to have a field day against the Bengals.

Rams vs. Giants- Opposing defenses have ranked in the Top-10 against a decimated New York offense four times in the first seven weeks. The Rams have one of the best defensive coordinators in NFL history.

Sit Them Down

Quarterback


Matt Ryan vs. Panthers- The Falcons are struggling for offensive production and Ryan has been relatively pedestrian against the Panthers. In six of nine career games in Charlotte, Ryan has thrown one or fewer touchdowns.

Kirk Cousins vs. Seahawks- The Seahawks defense hasn’t been kind to opposing passers and Cousins’ is working with a makeshift line that allowed four sacks, a fumble, and pick-six to the Cowboys.

Running Back


Marshawn Lynch vs. Dolphins- He may be one of the best human beings on earth as far as entertainment value. However, the Dolphins are making it hard for runners allowing only three to break the Top-25.

LeGarrette Blount vs. Broncos- Not only will he now split time with newly-acquired Jay Ajayi but the Broncos are a legitimate run defense. They have only allowed one running back to finish in the Top-20.

Wide Receiver


Alshon Jeffery vs. Broncos- He may have had a big week eight but in week nine he faces the Broncos. They have allowed the fifth-fewest points to the position in PPR leagues.

T.Y. Hilton vs. Texans- He’s got 11 points in the past three games combined. The offense doesn’t know how to use him or find him. It’s a shame because he’s a playmaker.

Tight End


Martellus Bennett vs. Lions- Even with six teams on a bye week, Bennett should sit this week. He’s failed to hit double digits in seven games thus far, he’s certainly not going to get going with Brett Hundley.

Coby Fleener vs. Buccaneers- If you haven’t given up on him yet, you really should. He’s gone from almost 30 points in two games to less than 13 points combined over the last five games.

Defense


Chiefs vs. Cowboys- It’s a tough matchup for the Chiefs as the Cowboys’ offense has been brutal to opposing defenses at home. Three teams averaged less than three points in their outing to AT&T Stadium.

Giants vs. Rams- Though New York is home and have a solid defense, this is the “new Rams dude”. They have allowed the second-fewest points by defenses this season.

Must-Start Dallas Cowboy of the Week:


Dez Bryant- The Chiefs have allowed eight passing touchdowns and the third-most points to receivers this season. Dallas will still run the football but Dez Bryant could have his way with the Chiefs’ secondary.

Must-Sit Dallas Cowboy of the Week:


Dallas Cowboys defense- They had four sacks, a blocked kick, a fumble, and a pick-six last week. I wouldn’t expect nearly the same production against one of the best offenses in football whose quarterback has thrown no interceptions all year to 16 touchdowns.
