Time to talk 2016 NFL draft.
The 2016 NFL draft is about to get underway. All those months of waiting, of mock drafts, of endless arguments of this prospect or that strategy will come to an end. Then a whole new set of arguments will start about this prospect that was picked or that strategy that was ignored. Hey, that's life in NFL fandom.
Couple of quick notes: Ronald Leary singed his tender to stay with the Cowboys and the Cowboys exercised the fifth-year option on Travis Frederick's contract. The offensive line is in good shape. Now, back to drat talk.
The Cowboys have the fourth-overall pick with three prime candidates being discussed. Jalen Ramsey, cornerback/safety from Florida State, and the two Ohio State Buckeyes, running back Ezekiel Elliot or defensive end Joey Bosa. That's if the Cowboys stay put at number four. There is a decent chance they could trade out of the pick, especially if other teams are desperate to jump up for an elite offensive tackle, or maybe a running back? Heck, maybe some team is sold on Paxton Lynch and wants to make sure to get him. You never know what can happen at the NFL draft.
We'll have coverage of the Cowboys pick or trade when it happens and analysis once it's over. Also, Joey Ickes will do a Facebook Live session sometime after the pick so keep track of that on our Facebook page.
Sound Paxton Lynch alert: CLEV and DAL have inquired about trading back into back part of first round, per sources. Let's see if it heats up
