The Bengals' horribly bungled attempt on 4th-and-2 (that ended up as an 11-yard loss) in overtime is the reason why you don't see all that many coaches go for it on fourth down. The statheads can quote all sorts of numbers at you, write haughtily arrogant papers on win probabilities or even call you a dummy; in the end, going for it was a terrible, terrible decision that cost the Bengals the game. The Jets have a scoring differential of -62. Nine other teams have a scoring differential of -50 or lower. Not one of those teams has more than three wins. By rights, that's how many wins the Jets should have too. Incredibly, they have the sixth best record in the AFC and would qualify for a wildcard if the season ended today. Go figure. (OCC)

The up-and-down Cowboys got clobbered in New Orleans. They're barely hanging on to the lead in the NFC East, and the mounting injury toll on defense coupled with the growing inefficiency on offense could spell doom for yet anther Cowboys season. (OCC)

Tavon Austin only had two receptions, but they were for TDs of 57 and 81 yards respectively. Austin added a 98-yard punt return for a touchdown, and totaled 314 all-purpose yards. I guess that's why they drafted him 8th overall. (OCC)
