The Cowboys are looking for a swing tackle and Cameron Fleming is at the top of their list.

Though it’s been rather quiet on the Cowboys free agent front, they are scheduling a meeting with former Patriots tackle Cameron Fleming.

The Cowboys are scheduled to meet with free-agent right tackle Cameron Fleming, according to sources. Fleming started 27 of 40 games for New England, including Super Bowl XLII. If he signs, the Cowboys could consider moving La'el Collins back to left... https://t.co/4wliXzNyDD

For clarification, it’s not a given that the Cowboys would move La’el Collins back to guard as Todd Archer is just speculating, but anything is possible. For now, it’s best to treat this as the Cowboys looking for a better insurance policy at swing tackle. Tyron Smith is as tough as they come but he has missed a few games here and there over the course of the last few years. Fleming is one of three offensive tackles on the Patriots that is currently a free agent. The best of the three, Nate Solder, just signed with the New York Giants. LaAdrian Waddle is another tackle that may interest teams looking for more depth.

Fleming played 15 games last season including three in the postseason, he had a handful of starts at right tackle. Our friends at PatsPulpit showed Fleming giving up six sacks, 1 hit, and six pressures in 2017. Six sacks isn’t ideal but the Patriots were shuffling a lot on their offensive line. For what it’s worth, Fleming received higher grades than both Waddle and Solder according to PFF. We also profiled Fleming in our Free Agency Focus back in January if you want the inside scoop on his career.

It’s uncertain if Fleming has a market outside of the Cowboys and the Patriots, who are reportedly working to keep him.

Does he have a pulse? CHECK...Does he have meaningful snaps under his belt? CHECK...Does he play multiple positions if need be? CHECK...Is he under 30? CHECK.... So my last question is, whats there not to like? Sign this man up JJ.

Oh...the biggest plus for signing Fleming would be HE IS NOT Chaz Green....or Byron Bell. So there's that.

Can he make pancakes, lift little kickers off their feet and yell at them for missing FG's is the question. Yeah there is the "not Chaz Green" thing too. Bonus
