It’s X-Man time.

Jeff Heath has been, well, what’s the word, okay for the Cowboys in certain stretches. He’s shown an ability to make some big plays at safety, and he’s always done well on special teams.

This of course includes serving as the team’s emergency kicker, a role which he actually had to fulfill earlier this season in San Francisco. Whatever you regard Jeff Heath to be, it appears it will be absent this Sunday night.

What that means is that a door is suddenly open for rookie sixth round pick Xavier Woods. Many Cowboys fans have screamed for Woods to start over even a healthy Heath, and now we’re finally going to get to see what that looks like.

Xavier Woods is coming off of a game in Atlanta that saw him record his first career interception, an incredible diving effort that we’ll all remember for quite some time. The pressure will be high though as the Cowboys host the NFL’s best team in the Philadelphia Eagles and an MVP candidate in their quarterback Carson Wentz.
