Cowboys CB Morris Claiborne has had persistent interest from the Ravens in free agency, reports are he might take their offer.

The cornerback market has been a little soft in 2017 free agency, so both Cowboys corner free agents, Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr, are still unsigned. It might not be too much longer until Claiborne is under contract. And it doesn’t look like it will be with the Cowboys.

Several teams monitoring the Claiborne market believe he will end up talking the Ravens offer. BAL exploring re-signing Webb as well

From the beginning the Baltimore Ravens have been the team most associated with Claiborne in free agency. It’s a given that the Cowboys were at least negotiating with him on some level, but with Claiborne’s injury history the organization may have been very cautious with what they were willing to offer.

Dallas decided to go outside the organization to bring in Nolan Carroll, an unspectacular but steady player who they signed to a three-year deal. At that point, the Cowboys were probably going to sign either one of Claiborne or Carr, or possibly neither and see what they get in the draft.

Carr is still a possibility, very little has been heard about him in free agency, but if they do that, their top three corners - Scandrick, Carr and Carroll - will be 30 years old. The Cowboys would still need to think about getting younger at the position.

It is still possible the Cowboys could swoop in at the last moment now that they have an idea of what it would take to sign Claiborne, since the Ravens have an offer on the table. We’ll have to wait and see.
