The Dallas Cowboys got some potentially good news about their suspect pass rush. Clarence Hill is reporting that defensive end Randy Gregory won an appeal and will not be suspended for 10 games as had been rumored, instead will only receive the previously announced four game suspension.
Dallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory has apparently won his appeal of a 10-game suspension for an additional violation of the NFL's substance abuse program and will only be suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season.
The league affirmed Gregory's four-game suspension Saturday, according to multiple sources.
There had been numerous reports that Gregory would receive a 10-game suspension, so much so that many fans and pundits had written Gregory off for the 2016 season. That may not be the case and it's possible Gregory could return after one month of the season.
That would all depend on how he is doing with his rehab. Sources also say that he is still in the addiction rehab facility he entered shortly before training camp.
The Cowboys are holding out hope that Gregory will be back sooner than later.
It's something the Cowboys are looking forward to as well, considering that Gregory has a locker at the team's new Ford Center headquarters at the Star in Frisco.
Linebacker Rolando McClain, who has been suspended for first 10 games of the season and is also on the reserve/did not report list, does not have a locker at the new facility.
Here's hoping for the best for Gregory.
