There is not much to offer among ranked teams, but there are some rivalry games to watch, and those always make for interesting viewing.

This week is a little thin as far as match ups between ranked squads, but there is still a full slate of games on tap for those who can't get enough football action. Pull up a chair in front of your TV, head out to the local sports bar, or gather at a friends house; it does not matter. There is football on TV this afternoon, and BTB has some of the more meaningful contests highlighted for you. I

Oklahoma (10) @ Texas ABC 12:00 Noon Eastern

Yes, this one looks like a snooze-fest, but the Texas State Fair is upon us, and that means that a good part of Cowboys universe has a vested interest in the outcome of this game. Traditionally played during the state fair, these two schools will do battle in the latest renewal of the Red River Rivalry in Dallas. The Sooners come in to this one with nothing to gain and the Longhorns have nothing to lose, so expect the Horns to lay it all on the line to win this one. There is pride and some bragging rights on the line. It may turn into a blowout if Oklahoma gets rolling early but if they let Texas hang around there could be a shake up in the top ten this weekend. That is not likely though; more probable is that it turns out to be what my colleague, Tom Ryle, referred to as "That scrimmage OU is having".

Who cares? Gig 'em!

Navy @ Notre Dame (15) NBC 3:30 PM Eastern

The Midshipmen come in to this game on the cusp of the top 25 while the Irish are coming in looking to rebound from their first loss of the season. It will be interesting to see if the Irish have as much success stopping Navy's version of the triple option as they did with Georgia Tech's interpretation of the offense. These two rivals historically have played in some pretty good contests over the years and this could be another classic. Look for Notre Dame to win one for the Gipper this weekend.

Northwestern (13) @ Michigan (18) Big Ten Network 3:30 PM Eastern

This will be the game of the afternoon, folks.

Two of the nation's best defensive teams face off in the Big House, and there will not be any backing down. This one will be a slobberknocker, but in the end, Michigan will hold serve at home.

California (23) @ Utah (5) ESPN 10:00 PM Eastern

These two schools are not the ones you think of when you mention traditional PAC 10 powers, but they are the combatants in this week's second meeting of ranked schools. The pair are the last of the unbeatens in the conference. The Utes are the favorites, but Cal's QB has the weapons at his disposal to lead The Golden Bears in an upset of a tenacious Utah defense. The Utes will make them earn every inch of turf they gain. Keep your eye on Jarod Goff, if his O-line can protect protect the passer, the Golden Bears can stake a claim out West. On the other hand, if Utah gets in his face, Cal's stay in the rankings will be a short one.
