Another Monday, another SB Nation mock draft...
It's Monday, so we take a look at another mock draft from SB Nation. These mocks also include video breakdowns which are available at the bottom of the post, so feel free to check that out.
Recently, we've seen mock drafts straying away from just giving the Cowboys defensive linemen. After months of doing this mock drafters get creative and try out different scenarios. But this week, SB Nation goes back to the tried and true, serving up two helpings of defensive line help.
16. Dallas Cowboys - Kony Ealy, DE, Missouri
Kony Ealy and the Dallas Cowboys seem like a perfect match. Dallas has expressed interest in Ealy throughout the pre-draft process, and there is an obvious need at defensive end after letting go of DeMarcus Ware this offseason. Ealy can play a few different spots on the defensive line and gets after the quarterback in a variety of ways. He should come off the board within the first 20 picks of the first round.
In some ways, Ealy has become the fallback safe pick for the Cowboys. With true target Aaron Donald basically always out of reach in the recent mocks, the Cowboys are more and more connected to Ealy, who would serve their need for edge rush help.
In the second round, a player who has fallen ends up with the Cowboys as a BPA pick.
47. Dallas Cowboys - Stephon Tuitt, DT, Notre Dame
At this point in the draft, Tuitt would be far too good of a player to pass up. Tuitt would give Dallas the freedom of switching back and forth from three- and four-man fronts.
The Cowboys really don't play three-man fronts much anymore, but for some reason that still remains a thought out there among some media. While Tuitt is a value pick here, I'm not sure if he fits what Rod Marinelli wants in his linemen.
Interesting call, would you do it?
