The Dallas Cowboys.com staff published their first mock drafts of the year today, and we get to vote on them.
With the 2015 NFL draft a mere 27 days away, DallasCowboys.com opened their mock draft season with a vengeance. The mothership's five writers unveiled their first mock drafts simultaneously in a veritable mock draft bonanza.
The interesting thing about these mocks is that for one thing, they are full seven-round mocks. The other thing that makes these mocks noteworthy is that they are not put together by some national writers who often show a marginal understanding of the Dallas Cowboys at best. The DallasCowboys.com staff are as close to the team as it gets, and are much more in tune with the general fan consensus than any national writer can be - at least I hope so. As a result, their mocks are much better than many of the mocks we regularly review here.
Having said that, the same caveats apply to these mock drafts as they do to any other mock draft: as a predictor of what will actually happen in May, they are not very accurate. Case in point: the DC.com staff did the exact same exercise a year ago, and their 55 combined picks (in their five seven-round mocks) hit on just two eventual Cowboys picks - David Helman had Zack Martin in the first and Bryan Broaddus had DeMarcus Lawrence in the third (he was picked in the second). Don't take this as a knock on the DC.com guys, this is par for the course for mock drafts.
In addition to the five mock drafts, each writer also provides an analysis of his own mock draft, which is well worth reading in the original article. But what that original article fails to do for the third year running, whether by omission or by design, is have its readers vote on which mock they like the best. And that's where we come in and provide a free, no-strings attached service for the mothership: We've listed the five mock drafts below, and attached a poll at the end of the post in which you can vote on your favorite mock.
Except we're throwing the guys at the mothership a curve ball: We're pitching their mocks against last week's BTB User Consensus mock draft, which was the runaway winner in our reader's poll on Monday. Tell us in the poll and in the comments which mock you like the most.

That's a lot of names to digest, and the DC.com guys don't make it any easier by providing almost the maximum amount of names in these mocks. Including the BTB mock, only four players show up more than once: RB Jay Ajayi (three times), as well as CB Marcus Peters, RB Tevin Coleman, and DE Frank Clark (all picked twice).
