The decision has been made on DeMarcus Ware and his Cowboys future according to sources.

The Dallas Cowboys and DeMarcus Ware may have finally settled their contract saga according to multiple sources. After a meeting today, the Cowboys are expected to cut their aging star.

Ware was slated to make $12.25 million in 2014 and would count $16 million against the salary cap. By cutting Ware, the Cowboys open up $7.4 million dollars on the cap.

DeMarcus Ware will go down as a legendary Cowboy, even if the Cowboys do end up cutting him. He's been a dominant force in the league for close to a decade and is likely headed for the Hall of Fame in Canton. His last few years have been beset with nagging injuries, and the 2013 season ended up being his worst statistical season. If this plays out as the sources are suggesting, we'll have to see if his new team will be getting a bargain because Ware has returned to health and is defying age, or if they spent on a player well past his prime.

For Dallas, if Ware is gone, they now move on to their free agents along the defensive line, Jason Hatcher and Anthony Spencer. They'll be hoping to keep at least one, if not both, with Ware now out of the picture.
