Two more draft picks left to sign.
He was supposed to be insurance. A fourth-round pick who would play some special teams but otherwise wouldn't see the field. Now, he's in line to take the majority of the snaps as the quarterback of the defense.
Sources report that the Cowboys got a deal done with rookie draft pick Anthony Hitchens, who has suddenly become a very important piece of the 2014 draft class, and the 2014 season.
The Dallas Cowboys have hammered out a deal with the rookie linebacker who may step into a starting role with veteran starter Sean Lee sidelined with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Fourth-round linebacker Anthony Hitchens has agreed to terms on a four-year contract, according to a source. Hitchens has been running with the first-team defense since Lee got hurt last week during an organized team activity.
That leaves the Cowboys with only DeMarcus Lawrence and Zack Martin left to sign among the draft picks.
Do you think Hitchens will be the starting middle linebacker when the 2014 season kicks off? A different Cowboy will take the role, maybe a free agent? Take the poll and hit up the comments.
