The Cowboys continue to make headway on signing their rookie draft picks.
Earlier today we noted that the Dallas Cowboys have finally started to sign their draft picks when they inked defensive lineman Ben Gardner out of Stanford, a seventh round pick. According to Charean Williams at the Star-Telegram, the deal was a four year deal worth $2.2. million.
In the same article, Williams notes that according to a source the Cowboys have also managed to sign seventh round pick Will Smith to a deal. Smith is a linebacker out of Texas Tech who is described as a "fast-flowing speed linebacker" who looks like he'll get a chance at the Will linebacker spot, but may find his role in his rookie season as a special teams ace. The Cowboys have nine draft picks total, so this means there are still seven to get under contract, including the two big dogs, Zack Martin and Demarcus Lawrence.
