The Cowboys are reportedly going to use all three of their quarterbacks on Sunday.
The Dallas Cowboys apparently have decided that Tony Romo will see some game action after all on Sunday against the Eagles. Contrary to reports that came out yesterday, Todd Archer and Adam Schefter are both reporting that the Cowboys will use Romo in some capacity on Sunday.
It is still the plan for Prescott to start the game. If he does and the Cowboys win, then he will set the rookie record for wins in a season. From there, it’s unclear how the Cowboys will employ Romo and Mark Sanchez. Neither Jason Garrett nor offensive coordinator Scott Linehan have given any hint about the quarterback rotation for Sunday, but all three quarterbacks have been getting snaps in practice this week.
The Cowboys had been reluctant to play Romo for fear of injury, with Jerry Jones specifically saying that injury risk was just too great because Romo didn’t need any snaps to knock the rust off. It appears others in the organization may feel a little differently.
"It's never bad to get reps in games, but again, that question is for someone other than me," [Scott] Linehan said. "You could argue both reasons why you would or wouldn't, but we've got to go play the game. If you spend a bunch of time concerned about things that could happen negatively, you get consumed by that, but I think we do a good job and Coach Garrett does a great job of just focusing on getting ready to play and focusing on the right things, and that's what we're doing."
It should be a very interesting game on Sunday for a season-finale that means nothing to the Cowboys.
