As usual, BTB returns with this week's fantasy football intelligence report.
Join the BTB FanDuel league for this week here.
Quarterback
Start
Eli Manning - Yes that guy. Sure he is having it rough right now, but this week he faces Jim Haslett and the Washington Commanders defense. Those guys shut down Tony Romo and nobody else. In the early season match up for these two teams, Archie's youngest son put up 37 fantasy points. That is reason enough to get Manning the Younger in your line up. When was the last time your QB put up that many points?
Ben Roethlisberger - Ben has been up and down this season, but of late he seems to be riding one of the peaks of his season. This week he faces the worst team against the pass, the Atlanta Falcons (yes Atlanta does still have a team). Ben is coming off of a solid outing against a tough Bengals D, and there is little to suggest that this week's opponent will slow him down.
Sit
Colin Kaepernick - The Seattle Seahawks are a tough match up for any passer. Two weeks ago Kaep faced this same defense and turned in a miserable performance. He was 16 for 29 with no scores and a couple picks. The Seahawks defense has not regressed since holding the Niners passer in check, so don't expect much difference this time around.
Andy Dalton - The last time Cincinnati faced their in state rivals from Cleveland, Dalton struggled against the Browns secondary. He completed less than a third of his passes and tossed up three interceptions. This defense has the Red River Rifleman's number plus the added advantage of this contest being held on the shores of Lake Erie.
Running Backs
Start
Chris Ivory - The Longview, Texas native faces what is currently the best match up for running backs, the Tennessee Titans. The Titans have surrendered five consecutive one-hundred-yard outings to opposing backs. Ivory should bump that up to six this weekend.
Alfred Morris - Although he has not been as disappointing as the other noteworthy member of his rookie class in Washington, of late Morris has looked rather pedestrian for Jay Gruden's offense. This week he gets a little break by facing one of the league's worst run defenses, the New York Giants. If he can get a little help up front, Morris should be able to take some pressure off of the injured Colt McCoy.
Sit
Rashad Jennings - Back to the NFC East we go, While the Giants and Commanders game looks promising for Alfred Morris, things will not be as rosy for his opposite number. Jennings will face a Skins defense that does a pretty solid job of stopping the run. In fact, Washington's front seven has been pretty stingy over the last month or so of the season.
Wide Receiver
Start
Sammy Watkins - If there is one area that the Green Bay Packers need to work on it is the defensive secondary. Last week Atlanta exploited them for over 300 yards. This week Watkins will get his chance to do some damage, Kyle Orton is finally finding a rhythm with his best receiver and the tandem should provide some sparks this weekend.
Odell Beckham, Jr. - By now it is obvious that the only issue I have with OBJ is the shade of blue that he wears. Beckham is proving to be one of the league's better WRs and this week he will benefit from a weak Washington secondary. It is a good time to double dip by starting both the QB and WR from New York.
Roddy White - Pittsburgh's secondary is showing poorly over the past few weeks. Last week A. J. Green lit them up. The week before it was Kenny Stills. With the possibility of Julio Jones either missing the game or being limited, White will be in line to take his turn at exploiting the Steelers secondary.
Sit
Anquon Boldin - There are not many match ups where I would suggest that you sit Boldin, but against the Seattle secondary I would seriously consider it. I just don't see a scenario where you would derive any benefit from having him in your line up this week. This is a match up where defense rules the day and there is no reason to waste a slot.
Doug Baldwin - As I said, the defenses are taking center stage in the Seahawks and Niners showdown. In fact, don't start an offensive player from either squad. There are more favorable opportunities out there.
Mohamed Sanu - The Cleveland Browns are the highest graded pass defense in the league right now, and Sanu has hit a slump to close out the season. This match up does not look promising for the Bengals WR2.
Tight End
Start
Antonio Gates - This is the place where I normally show some love for that tight end from New York, but not this week. The Denver Broncos love opposing tight ends and generally treat them well. Gates put up outstanding numbers the last time these division rivals met. Look for a repeat.
Sit
Jason Witten - Witten will be in the Hall Of Fame some day, but don't expect him to be in the limelight this weekend. Philadelphia shut him down two weeks ago. Bill Davis' defense has been doing it all year, so the performance against the Eagles was not likely a fluke. Witten will be a key blocker for DeMarco Murray this weekend, but that will not earn any points for his owners.
