The mood was even better than on day two.

The first day of the 2017 NFL Draft created a lot of worry and sometimes heated discussion on Twitter among those who follow the Dallas Cowboys. DE Taco Charlton was a polarizing pick, some praised the selection and many just flat out hated the decision. Day two brought reactions that ranged mostly from real pleasure to sighs of relief as the Cowboys snagged Chidobe Awuzie and Jourdan Lewis, two cornerbacks who were widely seen to be very good value at the spots they were taken.

And day three was just plain fun.

Having stood fast in the first two rounds, the Cowboys had four picks coming up when the fourth round began.

And there was still a little discussion going on about the Charlton pick.

Seattle traded out of their spot after learning Taco was the pick for Dallas. He was their guy.

In the fourth round, the Cowboys took their first offensive player in wide receiver Ryan Switzer from North Carolina.

@Switz03 congrats my dude! You & @DezBryant outside w/ @dak & @EzekielElliott in the backfield real!

— Jalen Ramsey (@jalenramsey) April 29, 2017

He looks to be a candidate to return kicks and puns, too - at least according to him.

Ryan Switzer is confident about his ability: "I'm the best returner in the draft and Dallas knew that."

— Nick Eatman (@nickeatman) April 29, 2017

He does seem to have a little ability.

And a Cowboys connection.

Congratulations to cousin @Switz03 on being @dallascowboys @realjerryjones be neat another Switzer in a Super Bowl! @dak get him the ball!

— Barry Switzer (@Barry_Switzer) April 29, 2017

The whole family looks pretty pumped.

We're Cowboys!!! So so proud of you, Ryan! pic.twitter.com/FfSwQykUhz

— Gabie Dinsbeer (@GabieDinsbeer) April 29, 2017

Ryan Switzer draft call:

Jerry Jones: "We just picked you. You're a Dallas Cowboy."

Ryan Switzer: "Oh my God. Are you serious?"

— Jon Machota (@jonmachota) April 29, 2017

Meanwhile, there was this going on.

Bills use pick they got from the Cowboys for Matt Cassel to get Pittsburgh QB Nathan Peterman.

— Charean Williams (@NFLCharean) April 29, 2017

Kinda (morbidly) hilarious that a QB the Cowboys like was drafted with the Bills' Matt Cassel pick.

— David Helman (@HelmanDC) April 29, 2017

The Cowboys had to sit through the fifth round. And as the sixth got underway, the name of one of their national visitors started coming up - a lot.

3 safeties taken in the last 4 picks.

None of them are Xavier Woods. He's still sitting out there.

— David Helman (@HelmanDC) April 29, 2017

Then, with several picks still to go until Dallas’ sixth round slot . . .

STUFF IS HAPPENING

WE ARE ON THE CLOCK

— ✭Yung Cheedo✭ (@McCoolBTB) April 29, 2017

#Cowboys trade up to 191! pic.twitter.com/u9WPQgBZja

— RJ Ochoa (@rjochoa) April 29, 2017

#Cowboys trade up & select S Xavier Woods with the #191 overall pick https://t.co/XHvTKnzsCi #NFLDraft

— NFLTradeRumors.co (@nfltrade_rumors) April 29, 2017

There were positive reactions.

Man. This has been a very impressive draft, guys.

— Bob Sturm (@SportsSturm) April 29, 2017

Cowboys picking needs with steely eyed focus...filing holes...Good job

— Clarence Hill Jr (@clarencehilljr) April 29, 2017

#Cowboys had the best 6th round pick last year (CB Anthony Brown) and they might have done it again this year w/ FS Xavier Woods. #Value

— Dane Brugler (@dpbrugler) April 29, 2017

And REALLY positive reactions.

YEAH YEAH YEAH, BACK TO BACK AWESOME 6th ROUND PICKS FOR THE COWBOYS!!!!!! Anthony Brown and Xavier Woods!!!

— Kevin Turner (@ktfuntweets) April 29, 2017

HOT DAMN, WOODS. My draft is done, going to get drunk.

— Birddog26 (@Birddog26) April 29, 2017

Xavier Woods! Dallas is having a phenomenal draft, y'all. pic.twitter.com/eb3QT3nbmN

— Jamie Plunkett (@FrogPreacher) April 29, 2017

So by this point, things were looking pretty good.

Cowboys' haul:

1. Readymade contributor @ DE
2. Two starter-caliber CBs
3. Utility WR & great punt returner.
4. Total steal at safety.

— David Helman (@HelmanDC) April 29, 2017

Xavier Woods started 14 games last season. Had 89 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 5 interceptions, 6 pass breakups

— Jon Machota (@jonmachota) April 29, 2017

And having gotten into the trade action, the Cowboys weren’t done.

#Cowboys trade pick 211 to the #Patriots, get 216 ack and also #Patriots 7th round pick (#239).

— Mike Leslie (@MikeLeslieWFAA) April 29, 2017

Dallas now had three seventh-round picks to work with, along with still having one in the sixth.

First, it was time to triple dip with their new sixth-round selection.

The Cowboys take another db with Florida State cornerback Marquez White at 216 in the sixth round.

— Clarence Hill Jr (@clarencehilljr) April 29, 2017

White is a good player. Like him as a practice squad player who maybe can develop as a starter down the road.

— Marcus Mosher (@Marcus_Mosher) April 29, 2017

Marquez White (6-0, 194, 32 1/8 arms) is a long, press CB who had 26 starts, 10 pass breakups and four INTs.

— Charean Williams (@NFLCharean) April 29, 2017

Next up:

Joey Ivie is the #Cowboys next pick. @NDTScouting and @TheJoeMarino are fans of the pick

— John Owning (@johnowning) April 29, 2017

Joey Ivie had 16 starts, 80 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks in his career at Florida.

— Charean Williams (@NFLCharean) April 29, 2017

Joey's Ivie's redeeming traits are quickness and high football character. Sounds about right for a 7th round flyer.

— rabblerousr (@rabblerousr) April 29, 2017

He is a blue collar player who grinds every play. Smart and very well respected by teamates and coaches https://t.co/wnZtTUkf0D

— Birddog26 (@Birddog26) April 29, 2017

That left the Cowboys with two more picks to make.

Cowboys are about to pick the top WR left on our board. Love it. Create some competition. Noah Brown is kinda raw but has nice upside.

— Jeff Cavanaugh (@JC1053) April 29, 2017

Cowboys' No. 239 pick was Ohio State WR Noah Brown was one-year starter who had 32 receptions, 402 yards and 7 TDs.

— Charean Williams (@NFLCharean) April 29, 2017

Noah Brown is funnnnnnnnn, dudes.

— David Helman (@HelmanDC) April 29, 2017

How fun? This is him making a somewhat contested catch.

All you need to know about Noah pic.twitter.com/m6Q83WyEU1

— Patrick Conn (@DraftCowboys) April 29, 2017

And finally:

Cowboys final pick Colorado DE Jordan Carrell....Seven of nine picks on defense. Two DE's, five DBs

— Clarence Hill Jr (@clarencehilljr) April 29, 2017

Remember Carrell from my travels last yr @FishSports Hard-nosed, doesn't take plays off, can stuff run/get to QB #Buffs #cowboyszone

— Matthew Postins (@PostinsPostcard) April 29, 2017

Spent time Cowboys pick Jordan Carrell on my trip to Colorado. Another blue collar workhorse who grinds, high motor smart and respected

— Birddog26 (@Birddog26) April 29, 2017

With all the picks in, the feeling around Cowboys Nation was pretty good.

This Cowboys draft is so full of AMEN.

— Patrik Walker (@VoiceOfTheStar) April 29, 2017

Stephen Jones wasn't playing when he said the #Cowboys would use the draft to upgrade the defense. Seven of the nine picks were defense.

— Mark Lane (@therealmarklane) April 29, 2017

Pour yourselves all of the glasses of scotch, @dallascowboys.

Lots of reasons to feel great about this draft class.

— David Helman (@HelmanDC) April 29, 2017

Stephen Jones said the Cowboys drafted five players that were in the top 68 on their board

— Jon Machota (@jonmachota) April 29, 2017

Congratulations, #Cowboys. You won the 2017 NFL Draft.

Standing ovation.

— Patrik Walker (@VoiceOfTheStar) April 29, 2017

It’s still too early to know for sure about how this draft class will really stack up. But the Cowboys did win the draft in one way.

Most of the Eagles mentions were "will the Eagles fans please shutup" and "Drew Pearson really took it to Eagles fans". pic.twitter.com/RO0BKcCwrU
