News: BTB: Week 1 NFL Picks: Cowboys and Commanders predicted to take early lead in NFC East

The BTB writers weigh in with their picks for the Week 1 games.

Hope is alive and well in all 30 NFL cities heading into Week 1, and fans in every one of those cities (except perhaps for Jets fans) are hoping that their team will jump out to a 1-0 record.

The NFL, in its infinite scheduling wisdom, has chosen to open the season with two divisional games in the NFC East. Which means that barring a tie, two NFC East teams teams will start dreaming of the playoffs after a 1-0 start, while the other two will wonder what went wrong after a 0-1 start.

The experts and algorithms tracked by NFLPickwatch.com don't see these NFC East matchups as the pushovers many other games on opening weekend are expected to be, but like the Cowboys and Eagles to take the early lead in the NFC East:

67% like the Cowboys over the Giants

56% like the Eagles over the Commanders
