News: BTB: Week 1 NFL Picks: Cowboys may be underdogs elsewhere, but not here

The writers’ picks are in for Week 1.

The Dallas Cowboys are gearing up for their first game of the 2018 season, as are most of the other teams in the NFL. Only the Eagles and Falcons have played, with Philly eking out a win in an ugly game.

As we do every year, the writer’s here at BTB will participate in a weekly pick’em contest, with a winner announced at the end of the year. You are welcome to play along in the comments. This week, we got a late start, so we’re giving everyone a pass and awarding them a win in the Philadelphia/Atlanta game, but the rest of the picks are here and are live.

As we are all optimistic at the start of the 2018 season, the Cowboys are the unanimous pick over the Panthers. Only one game has no consensus pick with an even 5-5 split and that is the Indianapolis and Cincinnati game. The panel is unanimous in picking Jacksonville over the New York Giants, while Washington gets a slight 6-4 edge over Arizona.
