For most of us a successful season now falls simply within the realm of our fantasy teams. To that end, BTB once again offers up a dose of the magical elixir designed to boost your team's production.
Editor's Note: SB Nation's partner FanDuel is running a $1.25M fantasy football league on Sunday. First place wins $100,000. Join now!
Quarterback
Start
Carson Palmer - Elite is not a word you hear tossed about in reference to Carson Palmer very often. That should change, at least where fantasy football is concerned. Week in and week out Palmer is among the top passers of the week, often out-performing his bigger named colleagues around the NFL. Look for his run to continue as he faces a San Francisco defense that he has found very good success against in recent seasons.
Blake Bortles - His numbers of late have been a little more down to earth in recent weeks, but that is only one side of the coin. The other side is the match up he faces. Bortles has demonstrated that he belongs in the game and this week's match up will give him an opportunity to get back on track. The Chargers defense has proven vulnerable to opposing quarterbacks since mid-season. Things fall on the side of the young passer this weekend.
Sit
Andy Dalton - Dalton has been nearly as good as the man he replaced, Palmer, for much of the season. This week will not be one of those. The Rams defense has been tough on opposing quarterbacks in 2015. They are the second best defense against QBs this season. Only nine touchdowns have been given up and they allow a mere 13.6 points per contest to the position. Give the Red River Rifleman the weekend off.
Running Backs
Start
Chris Ivory - Ivory has been up and down all season, but once again it comes down to the match up. Miami has surrendered 27 points per game to opposing runners this season. Their run defense has been so bad that your grandmother would be a start at RB against the Dolphins. Look for Ivory to be up this week.
Chris Johnson - Another up and down back faced with a good match up for you to cash in on. The 49ers defense has been nearly as dismal as the one in Miami. With one more day in the sun ahead of him, now would be a good time to get a veteran back into the action against a vulnerable run defense.
Sit
Latavius Murray - A surprise start for the first half of the season, Murray has fallen on hard times over the past several weeks. The once reliable runner has failed to break into double digits in each of his last three outings. Things don't look any better this week. The Titans defense has only surrendered a scant 14 points per game to enemy runners this season.
LeSean McCoy - Shady faces a defense that shut down Adrian Peterson to just under six points earlier this season and looks to be even better now than when they accomplished that feat. The Chiefs are one of the best run defending teams in the NFL and that makes McCoy a tough start this week.
Wide Receiver
Start
Larry Fitzgerald - Fitzgerald is one of those receivers who benefits from the success of his quarterback. When Palmer is on, Larry has a good day as well. In his previous outing against the Niners in week 3 The Cardinal's star was well over 100 yards and scored twice. This week looks like a good opportunity to double dip on the men from the desert.
Jarvis Landry - It is rare that I say start a receiver against the Jets, but this will be the exception to the rule, more so if you are in a PPR league. Look for Landry to be able to haul in several balls against Gang Green this weekend. Without Darrelle Revis the New York secondary is vulnerable.
Sit
A. J. Green - We have already talked about how well the Rams do against opposing passers. Now we talk about why they are so good. They shut down the other team's WR1. St. Louis has only allowed one score to the other side's top receiver this year and they are nearly as stingy when it comes to allowing the yards in between the two goal lines. This week does not look promising for Green.
Tight End
Start
Gary Barnidge - Amid the Johnny Manziel fiasco in Cleveland there is a boon for Barnidge. The return of JoshMcCown at quarterback signals more opportunities for the Browns tight end. Against the Ravens who struggle against the position, he will not only be the favorite target, he will be one of the most useful weapons in the Browns stable. Look for another 100 yard plus outing and maybe a score or two.
Sit
Jordan Cameron - The Jets have been suffocating for opposing tight ends this season, and the next up for the grind will be Cameron. Add in the fact that he has found little success this season, and Cameron is a no go from the start. Neither fact bodes well for Cameron's chances this week.
